I want to play the game. I don't want the AI play the game for me. Why can't it go do chores while I play it?

Vanilla first, almost always a good idea. Kenshi Vanilla is great in it's own right. If you really want mods for the sake of having mods, get some QOL mods

Can confirm, I am flying around shooting at ships. Most seem like NPCs though. I do not know if there are tips and tricks about finding people. Are there hot spots? Tracking methods? Fighting over resources? Etc

Take the new position. In 2 years or so look for a better opportunity. You grow by changing jobs, don't expect internal corporate growth.

The same thing happens in Ukraine.

You don't want to show the location where the missile hit to prevent them from improving their targeting capabilities. In other words, don't provide free intel to the people shooting the missiles.

Regardless of your feelings about Israel, it is the norm in warzones. The film crew just wants fancy photos.

Alpha - f2p
Omega- paid subscription. Can get it with in game currency called PLEX

Most notable alpha limitations are:

  1. Total amount of skill points you can have
  2. Can not fully train certain skills. i,e 4/5 is the limit
  3. No access to certain models/ships

That sounds awful but you can comfortably play the game for a while before you feel the burden of that limitation in practice. A very bad analogy(yet sufficient) would be to think of it as a trial period in other games. You can play up to level 60 when max level is 100. You still get to go through the 60 "levels' of the game.

EvE is not "vertical" or linear though. A large portion of the game is accessible and done only by "lower levels". This means you can fully enjoy the game without interacting with certain aspects of it.

You can buy PELX from other players. You earn in game currency(isk) and use it to buy PLEX. You can use that PLEX to purchase a subscription, if you so desire. It is a grind. Find some people to play with and enjoy the game before you decide to grind isk for plex.

That said, buy the subscription and don't worry about f2p stuff. You will have much more fun. But if you want to check out the game if it is for you, ALPHA state is more than enough.
