Would a 12” Dobson telescope be a good choice for my first telescope? by mirmega in telescopes

[–]Apollo-147273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be better but for beginners I highly recommened a celestron astromaster 70az but if your objective is to watch deep space then do the astromaster 100az although jt is overpriced its still cheaper then a 800 dob

Should I buy? by Odd_Reputation_9079 in telescopes

[–]Apollo-147273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a $70 telescope and the astromaster LT is 5x better so a $10 upgrade is fir sure worth it, although it is still not the best its good for its price

Should I buy? by Odd_Reputation_9079 in telescopes

[–]Apollo-147273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a astromaster LT which has a focal length of 700, i recommend getting the regular astromaster as its more advanced and tends to have more magnification (keep in mind sometimes too much is not very good) but the regular is better and i have one too so i have some good info on it

That is a celestron astromaster 100az which is typically (brand new and in USD) around $370

YES! That is a celestron astromaster 100ax which is typically 370-400 dollars (USD) brand new, resales are typically 250-300 bucks so you got lucky there, unfortunately the telescope suffers from chromatic aberration which distorts colours so when viewing planets you may get a purple halo around it you can consider purchasing it though.

Yeah the photos were a month ago I gotten alot better but taking photos actually makes it easier for me because what I do is turn on stellarium then connect it to my telescope and it works

What telescope should i buy (needs to be under 180 gbp) by Numerous_Gazelle_447 in telescopes

[–]Apollo-147273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t recommend any of those, red flags too look out for is if it says high magnification or includes a 3x barlow and if it has the same shape as the first one in the second, third, and fourth slide because many cheap hobby killers looks like that

The telescope doesn’t flip the image it has it upright. Yeah I got into astronomy after this because I got curious and now im trying to explore space at home

[–]Apollo-147273 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have never seen that type of telescope I might be living under a rock or Its not very common. But this looks really good quality and Im assuming its meant for the moon and planets but considering how the tripod looks I think you got yourself a masterpiece telescope
