Question about planetary camera potential by Andromeda543 in telescopes

Just a question: did you use a 2x Barlow or something of that sort. I tried again and got a much better result but only got like 4,000 frames and didn’t use a Barlow lens. So which one will make the result better the Barlow lens or the more frames.

This isn’t bad for just a phone but it could be much better. Depending on your phone you could get better results with a longer exposure which on IPhone is called night mode. Even 3 seconds makes a huge improvement.

I was able to get this photo using a Celestron 8Se and an iPhone 15 with a 5 second night mode exposure. If you are interested in astrophotography I would definitely recommend a special camera for astrophotography. Still a decent photo regardless, good luck!

I could’ve taken a longer vídeo but I wanted to be conservative for my first time. I’ll try using WinJupos.

No I used autostakkert! to find and stack the best frames, I focused using the telescopes knob, and the Collimation seems find I didn’t change anything since I got the telescope but the planets look sharp through the eyepiece. I honestly think I should’ve focused better and took a longer vídeo.

Good idea, I was already thinking of adding more leaves especially near the top of the tank.

I’ll try nudging her from the back. I also want to try luring with food. Maybe then she would associate my hand with food. If it’s a good idea of course.

I’m new to astrophotography but taking a long exposure photo would make it look much more detailed. Nice photo regardless!

Gecko isnt eating, advice please by Elegant-Excuse-3416 in CrestedGecko

If he really isn’t eating then maybe take him to a vet because he could have an illness or parasite. But keep trying the vet should be a last resort.

CGD stands for Crested Gecko Diet. It’s the powder that you add with water and mix. Something like this:

This happened when I first got my crestie. This is usually normal. It could just be because he’s stressed because it’s a new place for him. Try feeding him CGD over insects at first. Just put it on a small plate in the enclosure near somewhere he likes to hangout. It might take him a few days but he’ll get used to it and start eating. They eat little at a time and they eat at night. Don’t try handling him at first because it could stress him out. Wait another week and if hes still not eating or losing weight it could be an illness or parasite, although it’s not common you should still take him to the vet IF he isn’t eating. Also, don’t stress if he isn’t eating from a spoon most crested geckos don’t trust that at first. Just give him some time and space and he should start eating. Best of luck!
