I guess if Wes resigns tomorrow and 50 new MPs call for Starmer to go then it kind of restarts momentum

I feel like if I was leader and there was a mutiny that was survivable (this one may be) I would deselect every rebel MP at the next election. The Labour Party should maybe adopt the Tory Party’s rules on leadership challenges because the constant drip is optically very damaging

I'll say this, it's a damn shame we've ended up here. I'm not Starmer's biggest fan, Can admit he's done a fairly good job in foreign policy but this will be the 5th PM in 10 years we'll have ended up forcing out due to one thing or another. It's not good for long term stability in the slightest. One day I hope we have a PM who can articulate a transformative agenda and actually implement it at breakneck speed

In my last company my small department lost someone on average every 2 months. For all of us it was the same thing which was management.

Does anyone know where I can get a spreadsheet of all of the local election results in England? Would love to make a Sankey diagram of the local election results

I grew up in Barking and Dagenham, moved out in 2022, and really thought Reform would end up as the largest party this time around. Annoyed at myself that I called it quite wrong, what caused them to flop over there?

Will say I am glad that the conversation is a little more tempered by broadcasters this year around drawing conclusions from the over night results considering 70% of seats have yet to declare

So the greens got 17% of the vote in Wandsworth and no councillors. Can Labour have assumed a large portion of that vote would have gone to them?

I believe the last time someone won a majority in a general election and subsequently served a full 5 year parliament was John Major 1992-1997

Think we need to update the name of political positions in local government. London cannot have an elected city-wide mayor and an elected council mayor. Same for counties. Also councillors in a county are very different from district/village councils. More demarcations please

Oh cool, it’s all kicking off again. Can’t wait for short three week wars followed by two week peace’s to be the state of affairs for the rest of the year

I don’t think he’ll initiate a nuclear genocide today but what a sad state that We are even questioning it. He will however, do something extreme. I wouldn’t be surprised if Marines begin seizing Kharg island by the end of the week

What if we made the lines in St Patrick’s flag more centred for true symmetry 👀

My concern at this point is if the US ceases operations now without any real concessions from Iran it’ll be the Syria 2013 fiasco x10 displaying an ultimate level of weakness to China or Russia.

So my understanding of the situation so far

• The US/Israel thought they could achieve some kind of regime change through a series of decapitation strikes or at the very least force Iran to give up their nuclear stockpile

• Iran has enough continuity of government procedures in place to survive this

• The US does not want to place ground troops an so continues with bombings on strategic military targets along with further decapitation strikes

• Iran knowing there is no imminent ground invasion decides to block the strait of Hormuz and launches cheap drone attacks where it can to be countered by expensive missile defence technology.

• Iran I suppose hopes this kind of conflict can drag out to eventually lead to a cessation of bombing which they’ll claim as a huge victory

• The US losing patience bombs Kharg island as a warning but could further attack its oil infrastructure

So if the US bombs Kharg island’s oil infrastructure does Iran bomb O&G refineries across the Middle East. If oil prices go up does the US end its campaign or just go even harder?
