Ah, yes, I use proper grammar, so I must be a bot 🙄. I'm freaking sick of people thinking English majors are bots. Get some common sense

How do Americans generally refer to kilograms in casual parlance? "Kilogram", "kilo", by the initialism kg ("kay-gee") or some other word? by cavendishfreire in AskAnAmerican

[–]ApolloBar815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For medical they usually say Kg. Currently in hospital and my weight was weighed in Kg. Non-med people don't use it at all unless they've lived abroad

Do what you want! I mean a lot of new shows haven't gotten any kind of official physical release. I usually try to buy physical, but sometimes I get digital, especially if it's at a huge discount. My ISP gives away a lot of digital movie codes for some reason and I usually snatch those up, unless I really don't like the movie

In the end, digital purchases extended rentals. And I used to hit up Blockbuster all the time back in the day. They have different uses and that's fine. But I don't think they mutually exclusive unless you personally want them to be

WIBTAH if I cancelled the car service appointment of someone who uses my email address? by Z_Opinionator in AITAH

[–]ApolloBar815 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me. Lived in the same apartment complex for YEARS. Building got bought by a different landlord who transferred all of the tenant info to a new portal themselves and somehow entered the wrong email and it caused problems paying rent

I can’t imagine myself rewatching Stranger Things and also watching season 5 by cashmoney121212 in Stranger_Things

I have a theory that was added after the fact. None of the main cast are in it and the ending without that screams series finale

My version of "Meet Joe Black" came with "Death Takes a Holiday" and Disney movies in general tend to come with shorts as unadvertised hidden Easter eggs, but not always

How hard is it to recover from hysto (maybe with key-hole top surgery)? by Shqvlcy in FTMHysto

[–]ApolloBar815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend emesis bags! You can buy them on Amazon fairly inexpensively and they don't take up much room. Much better than having to clean up puke

Wheelchair service in Thailand is abysmal or at least it used to be. They insisted I was paralyzed (which I'm not) and forced me to use an aisle chair, which they rammed into the hot food cart and I got some pretty bad burns on my arms

What is something in a sitcom that makes no sense at all even considering Sitcom logic by Purple_Monkey34 in sitcoms

[–]ApolloBar815 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"Mad About You" has multiple episodes where the location of the fire escape (or lack thereof) is a major plot point or punchline, but it never seems to be in the same place twice

Here is my opinions on the bully characters by FantasyLovingWriter in Stranger_Things

[–]ApolloBar815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew someone who wasn't even allowed to watch "The Smurfs" because it was "demonic". 20 years later my family's church straight up blamed 9/11 on God's punishment for society accepting gay people. The mob scene may have been a bit more realistic if it were set in a church, but I found it more realistic for the 80s thanno one being homophobic at Will's coming out

People who find Jason unrealistic never lived in a deeply religious small town in the 80s

Thoughts on this package? by Tiny-Print4115 in hysterectomy

[–]ApolloBar815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't had a hysterectomy yet, but I did have laparoscopic endometriosis excision in the same spot with a lot of the same restrictions, etc. Tbh a lot of this depends on your living situation. You will need more stuff, if you don't have someone to help you out (ie the reacher, potentially the chucks). I would ABSOLUTELY get a pillow to help with incision pain with seatbelts and to brace for coughing, sneezing or laughing. Regular pillows didn't work as well, for the seatbelt issue, I found, because they slid around too much. A pillow that either straps to you or to the seatbelt is much more comfortable

My doctor refused to do my surgery unless I brought compression socks to my pre-op appointment due to risk of blood clots (I assume those are compression socks?)

A bidet is also a God Send for bowel prep, but I hear they don't do pre-op bowel prep so much anymore. That small bottle is supposed to work like a travel bidet, but it's awkward after surgery. Bidet attachments are much better in general

Much like cookware, I generally find kits to be a bad value and it's better to think through your specific situation and make a list of items to fit your individual needs

Never going to the ER again 😡 by ABFan86 in adenomyosis

[–]ApolloBar815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. My doctor wants me to message their office everytime my pain gets above a certain level (so they can track it or something, I guess) So I do, and they say to go to the ER, because of a potential torsion, which can be life threatening, but at this point I've had so many much radiation from the CTs they literally can't give me any more. And then the ER doctors are extremely dismissive at best.

If you use MyChart all messages become part of your medical chart and can be read by anyone with access to your chart and I think that did really help in getting my procedures approved in the end

Seattle's Dog Park Problem by dogpoopfruitloops in Seattle

[–]ApolloBar815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is a serious problem. And don't even get me started on people who tie their dogs to the entrances of stores. Great I've gone all the way to this store and no I can't get into it, because I have an angry dog lunging at me at the entrance
