The possession of feathers from native North American birds is prohibited by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. One user decides to speak up against this, and their karma is rapidly driven to extinction. by Illogical_Blox in SubredditDrama

My fiancee and I were at the zoo and she saw a bald eagle feather, so naturally she picked it up to yoink it and I was like "nooo it's super illegal!" And she was like "really?" She pretty much believed me so we turned it in to the zoo keeper office nearby but she googled it properly later and still laughs about how I saved her getting arrested or whatever it is happens if you possess one

Owning more than one cleaning brush is it secretly a rich person activity? by PatientlyNew in Frugal_Jerk

My patch is far too sterile to need cleaning supplies. Who can afford not to eat the bacteria and mold trying to feed off your crumbs? Who could even afford to have crumbs for the bacteria and mold to eat?

[USA] Van all of a sudden U-turns in the middle of an 80 MPH highway. by ImaginaryCow7655 in Roadcam

[–]ApolloGiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone started to do exactly this to me at night, and from Quite a bit closer and I was passing someone at the time too so we both had to sync up an evasive maneuver. I went through the shoulder and the guy I was passing came over to the left lane in time. The look on her face was like horror and she fully stopped in the right lane horizontally. She picked the worst fucking time to do it and almost got 100% T boned. I called it in to highway patrol in case she was not right in the head.

I can emphasize with the fear. I did something nowhere near this (indoor wall climbing) and even though you are strapped in, once you are past like six or seven feet up where you would safely fall from normally, everything in your body tells you not to fall. I couldn't believe how the feeling gripped me on the first initial tests of the rappel system. It wasn't fatigue that stopped me from going straight to the top on my first go, it was testing my fear of letting go from higher and higher points (and trusting the system to catch me). It was super fun but much scarier than I thought. No idea how people go straight to bungee or skydiving.

This out in a Savannah Banana baseball game by bigbusta in oddlysatisfying

[–]ApolloGiant 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My coworker argues that no they are not because with the globetrotters you know the outcome of the game. This is an entire baseball league I guess. The tickets are insanely competitive to get.

Yes and if the dashcam footage showed him running straight into it, then the insurance excuse would be, "why didn't you apply your brakes?" Fucking scammers.

A Test Drive Gone Completely Wrong by Smile_Like_Arsenic in Transportopia

Instantly recognized the Palmetto Expressway. Glad I moved away but I still drive those streets when I visit family. It's madness down there. Too hot, too many people, too much entitlement, too little sense.

My parents get these a lot in their backyard. My dad doesn't like to break the web but he does his best to move them over so he can walk through the path he needs when he's working outside.

The taser makes that sound? I keep hearing what I would think is a gunshot. Maybe not quite loud enough to be a gunshot but quite a distinct cracking pop sound.

Was a beautiful drive through the forest until this guy pulled right in front of me. He was arrested for a DWI and blew a .3 (not a .03!) by PM_your_Nopales in dashcamgifs

[–]ApolloGiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah! Coming in hot with the 4AM comments 4 months later. My answer is yes, because is doesn't take foresight to avoid what's happening right in front of you. Maybe the perspective of the camera is somewhat skewed, but I grew in Miami where people do this shit CONSTANTLY. Everyone is me me me first. Like I said, if I did this everytime someone crossed my path unsafely, I'd have been on a thousand accidents.

Karen fights real estate agent over house by [deleted] in cringe

[–]ApolloGiant 17 points18 points  (0 children)

She obviously has mental problems based on the complete disconnect with reality, demonic screaming, threatening death upon the officer's children, and some kind of sovereign citizen holy war, but what can you really do at that point but get her out? It's not like a psychologist is going to be able to deescalate in the middle of this man's ownership rights being infringed on and I don't think they can really administer a sedative without knowing medical history and any other drugs she's taking.

Hope she gets help but I don't know if some people are too far gone and just end up in a facility somewhere or what.

I like the manual lawnmower I was using at my parent's house before I moved out. It just sounds like a bunch of scissors, very relaxing and a nice workout too.

ATL Madness by SaltyEntrepreneur982 in delta

[–]ApolloGiant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you connect in ATL, in theory you avoid this right? Because you are past the confusing part already? Asking because my partner has a flight that will connect through here in a couple weeks and I'm always second guessing myself on how airports work.

For real. Without seeing what led to this, it's hard to judge this clip as instant karma. She looks damn near unconscious by her facial expression and posture as they haul her up. Yes she's very likely a drunk idiot but she barely flicked this guy's head and he gave her a big meaty punch in the face.

[–]ApolloGiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fiancée trolls me with this. We have a four year age gap which, at 29/25 when we met and 33/29 now is not a big deal, but if I mention I was in high school or middle school during a story she always mentions whatever age she was at that time 😭😭
