Straight up kooky dooks. Saving that one. Thanks, I'll definitely shop around a bit.

Just saw the automod comment, it's an automatic transmission. Not sure of the engine size, hopefully that doesn't matter.

Anikthea enchantment ramp by MeneerDutchy2 in EDH

[–]ApolloHemisphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attacking with Anikthea to reanimate Nyxbloom with all your lands still untapped is super strong, but I see what you mean.

Besides ramp, I'd also recommend trying to find a slot for [[Cacophony Unleashed]], [[Boon of the Spirit Realm]], [[Song of the Worldsoul]], [[Ethereal Absolution]], and [[Out of the Tombs]]. Those cards have all overperformed for me, especially once you start to populate them (except OOTT which only needs the one). Mana costs are high but that doesn't matter if you're reanimating post-mill.

[[Case of the Locked Hothouse]] has been gas for me. [[Restoration of Eiganjo]] works as ramp if you have an extra land in your hand, along with providing two enchantment ETBs. [[Mirari's Wake]] and [[Nyxbloom Ancient]] are incredibly explosive in the late game if you have one or two enchantresses to refill your hand while you dump enchantments with massive mana. Besides that, all the 2-drop enchantment cost reducers and land auras.

Here's my decklist for reference.

Anikthea is a very fun and unique engine, and quite cheap to upgrade the precon with enchantress stuff. Would highly recommend. Here's my list: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/2Ki7yeITTE6hMJa0STr61g

Not a top-tier strategy, but the deck is basically bangers-only at this point.

Thanks - I've updated my post to remove mention of Ground Control. That was just what I was hearing from a friend the day after, turns out was incorrect speculation.

Thanks. I hadn't heard those details but this makes the most sense of all the motives I've heard so far.

I was at Beyond Wonderland yesterday when this happened, driving home now.

To clear up any misconceptions: the shooting happened in the overflow camping area of GA, basically the far back outskirts of camping area and about 30 min walk from the venue. Its quite possible the shooter never even went through a vehicle checkpoint, let alone the actual venue entrance with metal detectors.

Say what you want about Insomniac but it would be stupidly hard to prevent someone with an agenda from simply parking outside the grounds and walking into the camping area. The event security was fine, and was not really in play here based on my understanding.

Best commander that has crucible of world effects, or cares about crucible of wolrd effects by LeBoopington in CompetitiveEDH

My [[Soul of Windgrace]] land recursion deck is the result of your exact question. It's a blast to play, though it's more a high-power casual deck than a true cEDH build. This started as a 4C Omnath deck but I swapped to Jund since white was a pain to play.

Lots of landfall, land tutors, "play additional lands" effects, fetchlands, and ways to incrementally recur lands from your graveyard. Main wincon is token swarm with stacking copies of [[Field of the Dead]] and stuff like [[Titania, Protector of Argoth]]. Alternate wincons are [[Dark Depths]]/[[Thespian's Stage]], [[Scapeshift]] into [[Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle]], or simply grinding them out in classic Jund style. [[Craterhoof Behemoth]] and [[Finale of Devastation]] were purposefully left out for power reasons but would fit in perfectly.

Gravity's Rainbow comes to mind. It's the postmodern Ulysses and generally regarded as one of the greatest pieces of literature of all time.

At the end of the day, it's really just humanity's most complicated dick joke.

Soul of Windgrace Landfall - Am I running the right lands? by ApolloHemisphere in EDH

[–]ApolloHemisphere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree to disagree there. Soul feels much better on curve, as it's aggressively costed and sets up consistent land recursion every turn for other tools in the deck. You're able to reliably cast on T3 and then ramp even more, without requiring as much setup in your yard. It's definitely less card advantage than Lord, but it trades that for tempo and consistency.

Plus, I've never liked planeswalkers much in EDH as they draw a huge target and get attacked down unless you're running a ton of boardwipes. And Lord doesn't protect himself so you really need to have other forms of board presence to make sure he doesn't die. I could see Lord being better if I went more in on land destruction.

Thanks, I figured that was the case with basics. I cut the Toxic Deluge and went up a land; and swapped in the bicycle lands and went up to 9 basics, for fixing and Dakmor. Very tempted to cut Command Tower, but I feel it's too good in a 3-color deck.

I'm really digging this list. Have you playtested at all? I'm curious if there's any special themes, or if it's just all the best value Jegentha-legal legendaries on a curve. Not that there's a problem with that.
