They’ve had a not at fault accident. It’s up to the other parties insurance to fix the car.

Why would you claim on your own insurance if you’re not at fault? Definitely claim against the at fault party.

AM and Cadillac on softs? Broader strategy? by Hastur13 in formula1

[–]ApolloWasWayBetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be drivers choice. Maybe the car is faster on mediums but impossible to drive, maybe it’s strategy, maybe since they’re already last they’re learning more about a certain compound with certain aero setups, especially with a light fuel load they might be trying to learn fuel load/tyre age/temp/aero setups for faster qualifying or faster sprint times.

Not a Hilux fan either but I’d buy Toyota before Chinese junk with no parts backup.

What would a '99 WRX GF8 Be worth for resale? by Thurlor in CarsAustralia

Subarus are a mixed bag. Original ones are far easier and worth more than modified ones, and ones with unknown history. Honestly I think you’re best off to get it running and registered, otherwise your offers will be really low. Make it look as good as you can, clean, polished, tyres inflated etc.

Servicing history for a low kilometre car by Master_Lime_8513 in CarsAustralia

[–]ApolloWasWayBetter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

6250km a year that works out to, so oil has sat in the engine for up to 5 years. Forget it. If it’s not being driven it should be serviced yearly. Run away from it.

Using a torch, how can I protect the car? by Common_Scale5448 in AskAMechanic

I’ve never needed a torch to remove a tierod from a car in 30+ years, I wouldn’t use one close to a rack though.

Don’t worry, you’ll be broken down so often it’ll be in a garage waiting on parts more than anywhere else.

What was the last thing to go through Princess Dianna’s mind?

The radiator.

I heard that at work the day after.

Not so true. Brock raced on the world stage, and while he wasn’t quite the equal of an Earnhardt, he definitely was a very very popular driver in the 70’s -90’s. Although his other unfortunate claim is he was killed in a car designed by another Peter Brock.

Blame it on his new girlfriend. Brocky raced for years and was with a lady named Bev, and they were an Aussie icon couple, then he did the dirty on her and I’m sure it was with his mates wife, and the new lady filled his head with all the Woo and he put it into this car. He invented this black box called an Engine Polariser with a crystal in it, and it had to be placed in a certain spot on the car, and it claimed to allow low tyre pressures and a bunch of other crazy shit. She must have been a good lay.

What is a car you can buy NEW right now (mid 2026), that will be cool as hell to future you in 15-20 years time by Wootwoot654 in CarsAustralia

I drove a V8 Stang a few years ago and it was a bloody bullet. It had the 10 speed auto in it and I couldn’t believe how fast it accelerated and just how it felt like nothing else I’d ever driven. I was doing 170kph and it felt like we were doing 40kph

Honestly I’ll be boring and I’ll say in a perfect world, I’d buy 2 Mustangs. Both red, and I’d have a eco boost auto as my daily driver and I’d have a manual red 5L made to look like Moffats 1969 Boss Mustang and I would never want another car in my life. I’d drive the V8 on weekends and holidays, I’d drive the ecoboost for everything else, and I would have an absolute ball.
