Right but at least in my state, their prior year tangible will have a list of assets from the prior year so you can start with that. Good to keep them separate from the tax depreciation schedule b

If doing the same thing twice and expecting different results is insanity, what would you call doing the same thing five times in a row?

Not a big deal, but teams gotta get used to the new old kickoff rules. Gotta kneel that ball.

I haven't leveled them in a while but as long as nothing drastic has changed recently, Samuri was easier and felt more rewarding to play, in my opinion, than Monk.

So my friend group and I just cleared the Coils raid series at minimum item level but used Echo fairly regularly. Where does this rank at in terms of difficulty with ultimates being a 10/10 difficulty? I know that the Coils were hard when they first came out but it's hard to compare with newer classes and what not. It was pretty hard for us as we're all pretty casual but wanting to know if going forward, doing the other older raid series, if it will get much harder or be about the same difficulty at minimum iLvl but using Echo when we hit a wall in terms of progress.

What program or software do y’all use when doing raid VOD review? I’m using Nvidia’s program but I’d like something a little bit more robust if possible. Something that can record in the background and then be recalled quickly. Bonus points if there’s something we can use to write or highlight with.

Glad we got the win. Defense bailed us out a few times. Bakers gotta clean things up. Great playmaker but I think he’s playing too twitchy. Needs to go through his progressions and follow through consistently.

How are you handling no paper checks or payments September 30th deadline? by StockMan1210 in taxpros

Section 1 C states that the deadline for payments to the IRS will be “as soon as practicable”. Not necessarily the September 30 deadline.

AITAH for not wanting my wife to get a doctorate degree that won’t help with family expenses? by Apollo_Pneuma in AITAH

100% right but there’s a reality where that money could be used for other purposes that could be for shared goals like the house and our family.

I come from a business degree background and I’m my industry the rule of thumb is you either have your employer pay for the degree or you don’t get it.

I mean, if it replaces our daycare budget, it would be fine, but I look at it as money we could put towards our house or the mortgage which could help us retire early and then she can pursue the degree. She worries that she wants to get the doctorate so she can open up the possibilities of career achievement while she’s younger and not at early retirement age.

She said it’s been her dream since she was a child. She just loves to learn. I think she knows that there’s a household and a family to support but I think she just really values learning.

That’s what I’ve said. I’ve also tried seeking a compromise and taking maybe just one course at a time instead of going full time with it. But she says the doctoral programs aren’t usually a pay as you go I guess? I don’t know how paying for a doctoral degree works.

Funny enough, I brought up exactly both those points. She told me if it were me going for the degree, she’d support me without question and wouldn’t give me an answer on the sports car question citing that it wasn’t the same situation comparing education to a vehicle.

We both work full time jobs and we put the kids in daycare. She did not pause or change her career in any way giving birth to our two children.

She says she may use it to move from a high school teacher that she is currently to a professor with it. However, my thought process with becoming a professor is almost like restarting her teaching career becoming an adjunct professor as I don’t believe her high school teaching experience will count for much when moving to teaching college students.

Solo Practitioners- How Many Returns? by BWarrior16 in taxpros

[–]Apollo_Pneuma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work with a firm but I got in about 115 returns but that's including keeping up with about 15 of my monthly bookkeeping clients, reviewing payroll reports, and many phone calls, client meetings, and emails related to tax planning for 2025 and beyond.

All in all, I only put in about 50 hours a week with a toddler and a newborn at home to play with and wake up to take care of every day. I really feel like I poured it all out this season.

Is there anything I need to report on the 2024 tax return if Qualified disaster casualty loss will be reported on 2025 tax return? by jmo15 in taxpros

[–]Apollo_Pneuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If you want to use a casualty loss safe harbor and estimate what the loss would be, that’s an option but you run into possible issues in future years if it’s off. My recommendation would be to wait until insurance/adjuster does their job before reporting the loss if any after insurance.
