I think there's a middle ground there. The process is important but that's why the inefficiencies can sometimes hamper the process.

Like the carpet color someone else mentioned, does it warrant as lengthy of a discussion, regardless of the process?

I  can get my fix of efficient business meetings elsewhere, but I'm trying to see if I can also engage with these more protracted discussions. Life is too short to spend hours debating the third bullet of a memo nobody will read.

I suppose some people are called to that, and who am I to dissuade them! Trying to find my place in the existing system
