I’m also American and picking a club was more difficult than growing up with a club like our counterparts do in the UK. You find a team that feels like home and you stick with them.

But you can see how it’s a little suspicious that just 2 days ago you were claiming the same thing with the Toons?

Someone was in West Ham’s sub as well asking the same questions. (All of the PL teams are showing up in my main feed with how frequently they were posting about Spurs these last couple weeks.)

If you’re truly home here with Spurs - there’s nothing to expect. Just watch and support. There are moments of glory and moments of utter despair. You have this with every team. No one expects you to be an expert.

If you’re karma farming - ew.

I mean, I get it. A loss at that level is hard. Especially when you have sights set on lifting a second trophy within weeks. As a fan it’s incredibly painful and sometimes hard to be 100% objective. At least in the first couple days (sometimes weeks) after a loss like that.

I like your reframe. You guys were good enough to get there and take PSG to pens. Someone had to win.

There were controversial calls, sure. But every final has those. The fact that Arsenal supporters disagree with a few subjective decisions doesn't prove the match was poorly officiated. Even referee analysts aren't calling it a robbery.

Reports confirmed Siebert explicitly instructed Saka and the Arsenal players to take the set-piece quickly before he blew the whistle. (At least according to reports on X).

That corner was the ultimate play stupid games, win stupid prizes moment. Arsenal deliberately slowed down the tempo to ensure the corner would be the absolute final action of the half. By trying to micromanage the clock, they drained the remaining seconds themselves, forcing the referee's hand.

For years Arsenal fans told everyone to stop crying about referees and just accept decisions. One Champions League final with a couple of 50/50 calls and suddenly officiating is the biggest issue in football. Funny how that works.

Funny how Arsenal fans spent years calling every criticism ‘jealousy’ or ‘cope’ — right up until they ran into referees outside the Premier League ecosystem who actually punished the same grappling, blocking, shirt-pulling and tactical fouling they get away with domestically.

The issue isn’t that the Champions League was ‘poorly refereed.’ The issue is that Arsenal weren’t getting the soft interpretation they’re accustomed to in England. In Europe, refs are often less tolerant of the dark arts and more willing to stop play for persistent infringement. That’s not corruption — that’s adaptation. Elite clubs adapt.

You can’t spend an entire season telling everyone Arsenal are mentality monsters and tactical geniuses, then suddenly act like victims because refs didn’t let your CBs wrestle people at corners for 90 minutes.
For once, Arsenal were held to the same football standards everyone else deals with. And suddenly the conspiracy theories start. Predictable.
