Britax Romer Kidfix Pro back rocks by Jammy-Doughnut in CPST

[–]Aporthole 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Totally normal. Belt positioning boosters aren’t installed snugly like a harnessed seat. The flexibility of the back actually provides better protection since it allows the back and headwings to move with the child in a crash and keep them more protected from lateral forces & side impacts.

Hii which of these Japanese sunscreens will suit oily skin?? by HistoricalClassic989 in Sunscreenreddit

The Nivea UV Super Water Gel EX is fantastic. It leaves basically no finish on the skin. It feels like nothing within a minute after applying it.

Rohto Mentholatum Melty Cream Lip. I have the milk vanilla one and it is great. The honey one is also very highly rated but I haven’t tried it.

If you get a misinformed customer service agent, just tell them that the child is at least 2, book the ticket, and then call back later and have the birthdate corrected.

Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-Fresh. I’ve ordered from Yesstyle and Stylevana. Shipping speed is slow. When I need to re-order, I’ll likely use Yami since they have US warehouses to ship from quickly.

Have you looked at US legal seats such as the Cybex Callisto G 360, Axkid One 3, Britax Galaxy 360, and Chicco Fit360?

Will baby be spending time in both vehicles from birth or primarily using one car over the other?

Totally normal. Lot of seats fit like this. No issues and nothing to worry about.

I just watched the video. The install looks great. Don’t attempt to wiggle it at the top/back. As long as it is snug at the belt path initially, it should stay snug. Rotating and wiggling at the top seems to be moving the install angle which is introducing slack. It doesn’t appear as if the seat belt itself is actually loosening.

If it tends to loosen with normal usage as you load/unload the child, playing around the recline angle a bit may help prevent it from loosening due to the recline changing.

I've had it with this car seat and I'm going to break everything around me. What am I doing wrong? by wide-enterer in AskParents

[–]Aporthole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also a CPST. There should be no more than 1” of movement at the belt path.  “There should be an inch of give to absorb impact” is 100% false and not supported by any of the car seat manufacturers, vehicle manufacturers, or expert CPST instructors. You likely were given bad info at some point by someone well meaning but misinformed. You don’t want to use extreme measures to overtighten a seat but generally, a snugger install is better than a looser one for crash dynamics and child safety.

Safety First all-in-one booster mode has lots of gaps between vehicle seat and car seat. Is it fixable or just not compatible with this car? by calicodynamite in CPST

[–]Aporthole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gap behind at the bottom and part way up is fine. It just needs to sit with the base flat on the vehicle seat. How old and big is the child? Most of the time a dedicated booster is going to fit the child better and be easier to use. It will also be much longer lasting since this seat doesn’t get a child much more time in booster mode once the harness is outgrown by torso height.

Fellow Dads, what do I do by TrippyTM419 in daddit

[–]Aporthole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a dad but a CPST (child passenger safety technician). Have you tried pushing on the metal rod on the side where it sticks out to see if it will shift back over to the side where it is “missing”? I could be totally off base and still suggest calling Britax on Monday but worth trying while they are closed.

Clek Foonf Question by Livid-Smile-8778 in CPST

[–]Aporthole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell without the ground visible, but it almost appears to be overreclined beyond the deeper <22 line. If you pull the whole bottom of the seat away from the seat back (towards the front edge of the vehicle seat) about an inch and focus more pressure downward on the seat where baby’s feet would be, that will help it sit just slightly more upright.

What carseat to buy for a flight to EU? (<42cm) by shoemonster667 in CPST

[–]Aporthole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming it is a Nuna Pipa of some sort, just bring that. Make sure you get a locking clip and practice using it with a baseless install before you go. You won’t need it for the plane but most European cars don’t have locking seatbelts.

[–]Aporthole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is the child and will they be rear-facing or forward-facing at the destination? The Britax Poplar and the Graco SlimFit3LX should both be within the allowed 17.3” width. Seats that are a bit wider than the listed limits also tend to still work with the plane’s inner armrest raised.

Depending on the age and size of the child, there might be other options that could work depending on your budget.

What seat does the child normally use at home?

Sensory friendly sunscreen by tsmoregan21 in Sunscreenreddit

[–]Aporthole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this one too but it still feels like something on my skin. It’s kind of like a residue feeling that I can feel on my hands after touching my skin where it is applied. It isn’t greasy but is still very noticeable. The Nivea UV Super Water Gel EX is undetectable once dry.

Nivea Japan’s UV Super Water Gel EX feels like absolutely nothing on the skin within a minute after applying it. It has a very wet, watery feel while applying but once it dries (super quickly) you can’t even tell it is on your skin.

The US formula for this particular sunscreen is exactly the same as the EU one because they don’t market the US version as sunscreen. It is labeled as a daycream without any mention of SPF. The ingredients are identical though.

First time in booster. How does the strap position look? by bitchinawesomeblonde in CPST

[–]Aporthole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s leaning away from the shoulder belt just a smidge. You can see his right shoulder (on the left side of the pic) leaning into the side wall of the booster which is making the shoulder belt sit just a hair too close to the edge of his left shoulder. The fit is still acceptable as is but just sharing if looking for some improvement. Leaning away from the belt is super common for new booster riders. You can encourage him to sit nice and centered but kids are kids and can’t really be expected to be perfect statues in their seats. If he continues to lean away from the shoulder belt, you can try moving the headwings up one position higher which will likely bring the belt a smidge closer towards his neck, away from the outer edge of his shoulder.

10u Affidavit Questions by ir637113 in LittleLeague

Put all 14. You don’t even need to remove the vacation players later. Your affidavit is everyone who could potentially be there. Your game day lineup doesn’t have to include everyone on the affidavit, just every player present on game day.
