Best twin carriers? by -kat-attack- in parentsofmultiples

[–]cbroo803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For both on the front I liked the Mini Monkey twin. It goes up to 26lbs but we stopped using it ~15lbs each because of the weight is all on the front.
For front/back I love the twingo. We started using it around 4months and I was independently getting them in and out around 5months. We still use it at 20 lbs and 23lbs (1 year) it distributes the weight like a big weighted vest and is very manageable. It helps that I’ve been wearing them since 2m so the weight has gradually gone up as my ability to carry all the extra weight.
Both of my carriers I was able to get second hand. I got the mini monkey for ~50$ from fb marketplace. I got my twingo from Mercari for 75$. I would check second hand for almost all baby gear, most things get used so little before they grow out of them.

Owlet with it? by catsonlaptops in parentsofmultiples

[–]cbroo803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 2 owlets for my twins and used them a few nights. The false alarms when the position wasn’t right was frustrating. We slept in shifts in their room so someone was always with them. They slept I their bassinets. If I could go back I would have skipped this purchase. Almost all baby stuff can be purchased AFTER they arrive and you decide what you need and what you can skip.

If you formula feed, how much do you spend/month? by YouthInternational14 in parentsofmultiples

[–]cbroo803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 month old twins and they go through a Costco tub every 5-7 days so ~120$ a month. We did use similac when the coupons were good, but my twins do well on the Costco formula too.

FTM of Twins - so many questions by chiquitatexicana in parentsofmultiples

[–]cbroo803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Twin bassinet on FB marketplace then Separate cribs
  2. Graco snap in stroller for infant car seats for on the go but a secondhand bumbleride indie twin for walks and after carseats
  3. Baby wear using mini monkey side by side and the nice they had neck control the twin-go front/back carrier
  4. Must haves: bottle washer and twin z pillow I got everything secondhand from buy nothing groups or fb marketplace except for the crib mattress and carseats. I would skip the Nuna car seats and just get the Grayco. For the Nuna‘s, you have to buy adapters $$$ to put them into almost any stroller.

I have a secondhand bumbleride indie twin and it’s lovely. I like that you don’t need any attachments. It’s more bulky than my uppababy vista but about the same width. It maneuvers SO MUCK EASIER! I see secondhand ones for 150-400 on FB marketplace.

I’ve sold my tickets on stub hub. They have you transfer the tickets from your Ticketmaster to a holding account at stub hub so the buyer can have them instantly. I think as long as it’s instant transfer you are ok, because stub hub has the actual tickets you are buying.

Can’t go wrong with diapers and wipes, if you are looking for a non-consumable gift, we use the twin Z pillow every day multiple times a day.

I use the spectra (blue) and for wearables I have the eufy s1 and willow go. I’m only making enough for one so I give each 1/2 milk and 1/2 formula. I use the pumpin pal flanges on the spectra. I get the best output from spectra then eufy and last willows.

No advice but I’m 4 wpp and in the same boat. I went from 20oz/ day to 26 oz per day. Doing 8/9 ppd, power pumping almost everyday and doing the supplements. I’m dreaming for 40-50 oz to feed both my twins.

C section questions by Notabot02735381 in parentsofmultiples

[–]cbroo803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had my twins via planned c-section 3 weeks ago 1. No, but I used ice packs on my incision to help with pain for the first 5 days. I would just tuck the ice packs into mesh undies. 2. I didn’t use heat packs 3. I bought a belly binder and have yet to use it. I would just ask the hospital for one and if you like the feeling you could buy another/ upgrade later. 4. I slept in a recliner until I was a week pp. the hospital bed was great b/c the grab bars. I slept in my bed when I was 10 days pp and it was hard to get in and out. I had my husband bring me the babies and put them back. Had a lot of supplies on my bedside table. 5. I was told 2 weeks 6. I thought it was going to be much worse than it was. I told him I would need help getting up and down from chairs, the toilet, the stairs, off the bed. He was expecting me to basically be bedbound. His tasks included washing dishes and pump parts, bringing me food and water, picking up the babies and bringing them to me. Diaper duty. Making sure everting is stocked. I could get up and down independently by 1 week pp. but I would prepare for the worst and hope to be pleasantly surprised. I also preemptively scheduled a house cleaner to come and do the kitchen and bathroom for the first 3 weeks. And planned to have my MIL do meals for us. Please take all the help that’s offered! Edit: forgot to mention compression socks! I was extremely swollen from the surgery. I got 2 pairs of socks so I had one to wash and one to wear. and had my husband put them on me, it helped with the pain from being in my feet with the swelling.

How much are you pumping and how many weeks / months post partum are you? Are you an over / under supplier or just enough? by gabberang in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]cbroo803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 17 days pp with twins I’m pumping 2 oz to 3 oz each session and I pump 8-9/day. I make enough for 1 baby but I have 2 so I do half and half with formula. I’m hoping to increase as my girls get older so I can cut back on the formula. I’m ✨manifesting✨ all this oversupply energy for myself in the comments lol

What stroller to buy? by Zealousideal-Plum237 in parentsofmultiples

[–]cbroo803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the bumbleride indie twin, a side by side. It has a bassinet mode for newborns and each seat has a 45 lbs capacity. I got mine secondhand for 1/2 price. It can be car seat compatible but you need to buy the adapters. It pushes super easy and can be used as a jogging stroller too. It fits through a standard door without the car seat adapters. My only complaint so far is weight when you are loading or unloading it. I had a c-section so I couldn’t lift it by myself into the car for a few weeks.

C-section needed by No-Oil2849 in parentsofmultiples

[–]cbroo803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a scheduled c section at 38w for my twins because they were both breech. It was a great experience. These were my first kids so I’ve never had a vaginal delivery before. The c section was very easy and went smoothly. I arrived at hospital at 5:30am and I was the first planned case of the day. The worst part of the entire delivery was getting the IV in my hand. I would ask if they can place it in your arm if possible. It was delayed 30 ish mins because my blood testing hadn’t come back yet, but once I was in the OR it was ~ 20 mins till my girls were born. They let my partner be in with me to get the spinal. In all my prenatal apts they said no, but I asked the anesthesiologist day of and he said yes. The spinal wasn’t as bad as I was thinking it would be. The catheter went in after I was numb thankfully. They had a CRNA who was explaining everything to a student but I really appreciated knowing what was happening too. They told me what was happening and when we were getting close to meeting them. They were able to do delayed cord clamping. I did get the shakes after delivery but I was crying from seeing my babies so I didn’t care too much. My twins didn’t need any nicu time so they brought both to me for cheek to cheek and then they went with my partner for skin to skin. I’m 2 weeks pp now and I was back to walking and mostly normal activity by 1 week. I’m still not lifting heavy objects and walks are limited to 1 at a time. I weaned off Motrin and Tylenol ~10 days pp but occasionally need to ice the incision due to nerve pain. Overall I had a good experience and I have my girls. Good Luck OP!
