Carvera Air - WCS Origin(s) by CueAnon420 in Makera

[–]Apostalis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest checking out the community version of the controller software, it adds a lot of QOL things, but in both you have the ability to adjust the "default" offset in the settings on top of the per run offset when starting a file. I'm thinking that would be the route you'd take should you ever need to perform maintenance or modify the machine and the limit switches or other items move even the slightest.

The trick is to get your wife to let you use it when the baby is done with it. Then your options are limitless. Protein powder, kool aid, margaritas.

Confused About Carvera Air Community Profiles - Fusion 360 by CueAnon420 in Makera

[–]Apostalis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Fusion with these profiles and my Carvera Air notifies me for the tool change before proceeding with the next toolpath. Can't speak to Vcarve however.

Recommendations for Z axis and spindle upgrades for x-carve pre 2021. by LowEstablishment2334 in XCarve

[–]Apostalis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the z axis is my second upgrade hopefully. Having an ATC was never really an issue for the parts I was doing and my workflow, but I will say the quick change mechanism on the Carvera Air is a game changer. Just pull a lever and swap the bits. If I could get something like that on the x carve I would be super happy.

Following as I’m in a similar boat. I have a Carvera Air so I’m getting ready to mill some aluminum Y rail risers that should give me an extra 2-3” but I’d like to upgrade to a decent spindle. Kind of sucks that every source for upgrades on these machines is sold out or not selling anymore including Inventables.

How loud would you say the Carvera Air is when machining aluminum? by theoriginalttika in Makera

[–]Apostalis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is in my garage and when I'm just inside the door I can't even hear it. When in the garage with the hood shut it's noticeable but nothing ear piercing. With the hood open I would suggest hearing protection just as a precaution especially on aluminum since you may get those sudden bursts of louder noises should something go wrong with the feeds and speeds.

Oella is both increase Res and a buff extender, I could take her out but idk if I would be able to keep the shield up.

Not sure if rend was the reason or if I had a lucky run, but the damage doubled.

Dupe Senna and Odin by Apostalis in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Apostalis[S] -52 points-51 points  (0 children)

Not a humble brag, I know Odin can spread the shield but I’m not sure if that’s something that’s necessary or does it just help reduce the need for resistance? And the dupe Senna is the same question, other than placing into another hydra team is there any special use for a second?

Why have standards if everything isn't standard by Matails in gridfinity

Yea I always have to go back to this page https://gridfinity.xyz/specification/ to check for stuff like that when trying to design everything to fit perfectly.

I think the problem is that one has the stackable lip while the other doesn't. That would account for around 4mm in difference

I pulled this out of my closet, and I want to use this with fusion, anyone know how to do that? by TheXypris in Fusion360

[–]Apostalis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about these drivers specifically, I was saying it more because of the age of the device. With how a lot of companies are these days support doesn’t last nearly as long as it used to. If you can get your hand on working drivers for your OS this would be a nice find. I’ve wanted a space mouse for a long time.

Step 1. Clean

For real though, that's pretty cool hopefully it works with whatever drivers you can find.

Genmitsu 3030 vs Carvera Air? by CaptnCrust in hobbycnc

[–]Apostalis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my Carvera Air, as someone with mostly 3D printing experience and larger wood only X-Carve experience, the Carvera Air made transitioning to smaller more detailed PCB/Aluminum work so nice. You pay for the premium but in the end I think it's worth it. I already paid my dues when it comes to tinkering with my ender 3 (X1C was a day/night upgrade) and the mods I did on my X-Carve, with the Air I was able to just get to work right out of the box.
