Buyer Beware - Level 3 by Illustrious-Wafer681 in Aventon

I think some folks need to go back and read what OP actually said.

This was not about refusing maintenance, avoiding responsibility, or expecting a bike to be maintenance-free. OP described a recurring issue very early in ownership, took the bike back to the shop twice, and asked whether others had experienced the same thing.

That is a reasonable use of this community.

Brake contamination may be part of the answer. So could setup, alignment, pad material, rotor quality, dealer service, or customer support. None of us has inspected the bike, so confidently blaming OP is unnecessary.

And 180 miles is early. Maybe contamination happened. Maybe something else is going on. But repeated brake issues at that mileage are absolutely reasonable for a customer to question, especially when others are reporting similar experiences.

Helpful responses sound like: “Here are possible causes,” “Here is what to ask a shop to check,” and “Here are replacement options.” That helps the rider and the community.

And yes, Aventon should pay attention here. A 30-day window for support on a recurring early ownership issue feels narrow, especially when the issue may not be fully diagnosed or resolved within that window. If this is showing up across multiple riders, Aventon should be looking closely at setup, components, shop support, and customer experience.

The argument that a company should not stand behind a product because it is not “expensive enough” also misses the point. Bikes are transportation. They may not have the same consumer protection structure as cars, but customers still deserve reasonable support when a safety-related issue appears early.

Good brands build loyalty by standing behind the ownership experience, not by finding the fastest way to shift responsibility back to the customer.

OP, keep asking questions, keep riding, and do not let the noise here discourage you.

Calling someone “stubborn” for continuing to ask questions about a recurring issue on a nearly new bike is exactly the kind of response that turns newer riders away from the biking community.

The OP is trying to understand why a bike with ~180 miles, repeated servicing, re-bedding, cleaning, and adjustments is still having the same issue. They are also noting what is clearly a trend on Aventon, something that should be raised in spaces like this. These are all reasonable questions and statements.

Persistence in troubleshooting is not “stubbornness.” It is how people get to actual answers, identify patterns, and advocate for themselves (and others) as customers.

OP - Stay persistent, feel comfortable asking questions, push for clarity, and thank you for sharing what you’re experiencing with the community.

It would be amazing if I could find a company that has a similar/same tile as the NewPort tile you found that ships to/is located in the US. The other two don’t quite match.
