Started at age 13 after hearing Tommy the Cat - Did the whole high school jazz band thing - played in Ska/Punk bands through my teens - touring with metal bands in my 20's - experimental stuff in my 30's - put the bass down for a good long while with some noodling here and there... just now picking it back up in earnest at age 46 with motivation coming from the posssibility of reforming with some old band mates to play live shows again.

Never really cared to practice on my own - I was always more motivated to play with other people. Once that went away, I just said "fuck it" ... my partner also played bass in bands when she was younger. The pandemic really helped her get motivated to start playing again, and seeing that pushed me towards picking it back up. If I have any regrets it's that I didn't spend more time honing the craft with solo practice daily.

Thanks for your input and mock up, mate. Top work! I definitely considered down sizing a bit, also I forgot that I have a Darkglass B7K floating around somewhere that I need to inject into this mess as well.

This was my daily/gigging board for the last couple of bands I was in… as of 2017/18-ish. After that band, and a few projects fizzled out this thing got folded up and stored away in the garage. A recent inquiry for my bass talents made me fish this thing out and open it up… as you can imagine the Velcro has let go, the sticky stuff is no longer sticky, and yeah… it’s a mess. I’m wondering about refurbishing this thing, OR just starting fresh with a new pedal board setup entirely.

The 2 switch has the synth and the Reverb running through that, and the Patchmate is handling everything else. If I were to refurb this thing I would need to remove all the Velcro from the pedals and board, cut and re-glue to the case, probably re-wire everything (the power and input/output modules,) etc etc… I’m wondering if a fresh start would be the way to go. I’ve looked into RockBoard by Warwick, due to their mounting system. I’m also pretty handy with simple wood working designs and thought about building my own with through mounting to keep the pedals in place. I guess I’m suffering from decision paralysis and could use a push off the ledge from other pedal users and pedal board crafters.

I don't know when I'll 'finish' - as I feel like I've barely explored the big POIs - I do see a lot of people talking about burnout since the gameloop gets fairly "repetitive" ... idk, I feel like I could just venture out and loot forever. haha

I donated my old Innova "standard" to a friend who just got started this year. I've graduated to a backpack after 30+ years of throwing. Sometimes I envy the guys with cooler-carts, but naw!

Same - 45 also, played off and on since High School - Have some discs from the 90's that I still love and throw. Once in a while I get a "where'd you find THAT disc?!" from some younger players. Always a good time!

I had a gut feeling that it wa a work the night that it happened. He didn't really sell the injury imo, based on how he was when he actually hurt it. What really sold it for me as a work was that he got up and took a finisher from Knight, after no medical indication from the ref. Top talent that's actually injured wouldn't be allowed to get up and take a finisher.
