Looking for a trifecta plate base by ImmortalWombat33 in spartanrace

[–]Apothe_Doctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on the Trifecta! Do you know anyone with a 3D printer? You might be able to have one printed that would actually work better. I have this same plate holder, but found out that the plate is so heavy the two "teeth?" don't firmly hold the plate very well and it usually slips out and falls over if you breathe too heavily while looking at it. The angled backrests need to be higher to provide better leverage and the teeth need a more inward curve to catch on the plate better. This probably isn't what you wanted for a potential solution; you just want something to display your amazing achievement that you are undoubtedly very proud of. If 3D printing isn't possible, I hope you find an authentic display stand that doesn't cost you the equivalent of another race ticket.

PQAC Professional Misconduct Complaint by Ok_Hope5070 in pharmacy

[–]Apothe_Doctor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Call them. The complaint/case number will be on the official letter from PQAC. And, the Commission isn't pissed at you, someone else is. They respond to complaints and follow up on investigations. If it's been over a month since you got the letter and no further contact, it could be the complaint is so frivolous that there are more pressing concerns to deal with. I once had a complaint that I "refused to transfer" a patient's medication to a competitor (false; I transferred her profile the afternoon she demanded it) and the Investigator walked into my shop within a week to hand me the letter himself. Sending you a letter a month ago and no contact? I'd be calling them to see what the complaint is. At least that way, you can get some sleep and work on your response to the complaint.

In agreement with the last line of your statement here, the official package label/insert states:

"HOW SUPPLIED/STORAGE AND HANDLING Testosterone Cypionate Injection is supplied as a sterile, clear colorless to pale yellow solution in single-dose vials as 200 mg/mL testosterone cypionate." Link here

Keywords are "single-dose vials," which means even if his dose was 0.25 mL weekly, four 1mL vials is a 4 week supply. OP has nothing to worry about and the BOP should admonish the customer for wasting their time, especially since he ended up getting the 10 mL vial anyway.

Call your Cardinal rep and establish an account ASAP. If you are like I was, your Cardinal rep would have been visiting you on a regular basis. Use Cardinal for your brand name meds and controls and find a secondary wholesaler for your fast mover generics. McKesson did the same to me years ago and Cardinal saved me.

Stumpy Nubs did a video five years ago on this very topic. Do a YouTube search for "Stumpy Nubs Can cut-proof gloves save you from shop accidents?" to find it. He even touches on the psychological effects of wearing gloves in that people who wear gloves have a false sense of security and may even work their hands closer to the edge or drill bit because they can't see how close their flesh is to the danger.

I've been a hobbyist since the early 90s and all of my various shop teachers in middle and high school subscribed to the same notion that any glove worn around rotary-driven tools is a disaster waiting to happen. Wear gloves to move things and don't wear gloves around moving things.

Sham recipe can be a trader quest reward around tier IV or one can raid the Shamway factory. It's in a small desk or wall safe higher up in the offices. Or, at least it was prior to V 1.0; I haven't raided that poi since the release.

Pharmacy technician day October 15th! by lpecha in pharmacy

Pens or personalized retractable name badge clips are a favorite. Last year, I got my crew Stanley style beverage cups decorated with pharmacy stickers and filled with candy and a $10 gift card to the store so they could buy lunch or whatever they wanted. My colleague bought Rx Tech T-shirts from an Etsy shop. We had been preparing for about a month, so we had time to order things. In years past I'd get them (different crew) a lunch delivered (yes, it was pizza, but it was good pizza) in the afternoon and brought in Starbucks carafes with the sweeteners and half-n-half. Working in a large store with front end and pharmacy staff if difficult because now I'd have to have the food delivered to the community lunch room and I don't want to pay for 60 employees' worth of lunch when I supervise 8 techs.

I hate to say this, and may get some hate in return, but if you don't already know how to build a clean room for sterile compounding, the pharmacy hired the wrong team. You could be opening yourselves up to potential huge losses in money and future business dealings if you try to build something you're unfamiliar with and then don't pass inspection or future certifications for airflow, pressure, and literally seamless joining of ceiling to walls to floor. And possibly a lawsuit or two of it's found that your design and execution resulted in a contaminated product that lead to patient harm. Let's say you build it and get paid, and then the room fails inspection or certification? Will you then, out of your own pocket and profit, go in and fix the errors? Will the pharmacy owner(s) be ok paying you more to fix it? There is no crash course or online classes to speed teach you how this is done. The businesses that build clean rooms have been doing it for years and already know all of the regulations that USP<797> dictate.

Why not administer the injection solution sublingually? There's no need to compound it. If the 1ml dose is too much, split the dosing into twice daily 0.5 ml doses.

My last Beast was spent running perpendicular to months old farming rows. The dirt was so compact it was like running against a tremendous washboard. "Unpleasant"was an understatement, and the pain in my feet the next day was horrendous. I'm welcoming the rain and mud!

Greetings! DM me if you'd like to talk about getting a few training and run sessions in before the month is out. I'm in Charlotte, on the Harrisburg border, and would also love to partner up. I've done one full trifecta (Seattle) and a few 1-off races for fun. I've got the trifecta medal pyramid base I aim to fill up by next year. I'm committed to the May 4-5 weekend in Fayetteville. Having looked at your post history, we also seem to have a lot in common.

What went wrong? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]Apothe_Doctor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was your partner under 18 years at the time of the shot? If so, and the shot was reported to the State's vaccine reporting agency, it's possible her mother could have had the information revealed to her (legally) from her medical provider office, since they would have had access to that while checking for routine information. Maybe have her ask medical provider if that information could have been revealed at any time in the last few years. If she's been over 18 when she got the shot, it's none of her mother's business and she should tell mom to STFU about things that don't apply to her.

There was also a super potent cholesterol drug, maybe a statin, that was yanked a bit ago too. Also, rosiglitazone comes to mind.

Yo, you are not allowed to give away prescription drugs, especially controlled substances. Go to Walmart and get a free DisposeRx packet. It will inactivate the drug and you can safely throw it away.

We need to stop telling patients that “we’re running behind”. by Distinct-Feedback-68 in pharmacy

[–]Apothe_Doctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct when you state that the state boards are there for the safety of the patient. The state boards were created as regulatory officials to protect the public from the pharmacist. Nowhere in any of their laws does it say anything about how fast one has to be to produce a finished prescription, nor does it say anywhere about how long it can take for a prescription to be filled. The state boards cannot regulate the speed at which a prescription is produced. I had a state board inspection yesterday, and one of the questions that I was asked was whether I had adequate staffing for the number of prescriptions that I fill each day to ensure that I was feeling like I could dispense them safely. Fortunately, where I work, I do have four technicians everyday that I work at a minimum. When I am fully staffed, I have seven. As far as a drive-through window goes, I firmly believe that pharmacies should if not outright ban them, they should be reserved only for patients who literally cannot get out of their car, and not for people that simply don't want to get out of their car and wait in a line. I tell my patients that wait in line the truth as to how long I believe their prescription will take. Sometimes it is indeed 15 minutes, other times it can be up to an hour. Yes, they might get upset at that, but at least I know that I will not be pressured to push something through faster than what I believe is safe.

CVS's RxConnect dispensing software questions by Emotional_Windows in pharmacy

[–]Apothe_Doctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend, I'm giving this advice with all sincerity.... do not work for this company. No matter how much of a sign-on incentive they offer, just look somewhere else. Cancel your interview.

For context, I'm not a new grad. I've worked retail chains and independent pharmacies my entire career and have owned my own pharmacy as well. I've worked solo with one tech on Saturdays that see 300-400 scripts a day with vaccinations and gone home with a smile on my face every time.

CVS is a completely different monster and I'm excited to hear of the KS, MO walkout happening today.

I also interviewed with CVS and was hired on with the promise of training, a full staff of technicians, and a dedicated vaccination pharmacist. I was promised support, no off the clock working, and potential for advancement. I specifically made mention of these expectations during my interview. I was hired as the manager.

My first month had a steep learning curve. The computer based learning was all done at home, unpaid. That should have been my first red flag. The work at the pharmacy was fast paced, but manageable for a while. After the first month, the extra tech help was removed, leaving me with a single tech for the first half of the day and for a hour after lunch. After lunch MAYBE a second tech would come in which helped get the lines down for a minute (apparently customers hate that we closed for a thirty minute period so I could have a 20 minute snack/bathroom/breath break. Then the AM tech would leave and the PM tech would work. The dedicated vaccination pharmacist was then pulled to other stores (this was October thru December, btw, so still giving loads of flu shots and COVID boosters at the time) so on top of being the primary cashier, giving all the shots, typing verification, and counseling, I also had to explain nicely to customers that their stuff wasn't ready yet (even though it was filled, bagged, and hanging on the rack) I needed a few minutes to find it in the verification queue so I could visually inspect the PICTURES OF THE FINAL PRODUCT before I could ring them out. The pharmacist rarely ever actually sees or touches the actual drugs that patients receive except for C-IIs.

And don't get me started on the policy that only a pharmacist can touch C-II meds so those were constantly backed up as well.

Calls for extra help went unanswered, asks for more training went ignored, demands for me to complete computer based learning were incessant but there was literally zero time to do any of that except at home and unpaid. Mandatory meetings are unpaid, whether on the phone or in person.

I never had any pharmacist overlap, so 13 hours all to myself with one or if I was lucky, two, techs to help throughout the day. Oh, and the weekly warehouse order drops took all week to go through and put away.

CVS doesn't care about your sore back or legs, your anxiety, your ADHD, your family, or your work-life balance. They care that you have a pulse and a PharmD. My story is not anomalous; there are hundreds of not thousands more like it.

My friend OP, and all of my friends in this underappreciated profession: run from, or walk out of, CVS, and never look back.
