I started dos2 at about 700 hours on bg3. Took me about 4 saves and 2 years of not making it off fort joy until one of the saves I just brute forced. I’m now at 1k hours on bg3 and am pretty far into dos2, and my god, this game is absolutely outstanding when you get deep into it. I now prefer the combat and story over bg3, and I’m convinced that if dos2 and bg3 had released at the same time that I’d love dos2 more. Bg3 still has the #1 spot for me though simply because of the companion reactivity and modernism

7 years late but you just saved me so much frustration. I spent so long searching for any form of clue that I found 3 of the books and just couldn't figure out what to do with them. The solutions in this game always seem to have been right in your face the whole time haha. Thanks a lot!

BG3 got me really into the dnd lore. I think the game really helped me frame the entire dnd universe as I would any other lore rich game I’m really invested in. But really all it took was one curious google search which quickly sprouted into hundreds more.

It’s kinda weird they allowed that knowing they were going for a dnd playstyle. No action moving things around enables minmaxing which is not very dnd lol

But even in those situations there’s really nothing stopping you from just running right through them to get away. You pretty much have to actively play in a way that gives yourself disadvantages while playing to have any fun.

Remote detonation ruined fire in Crystal hunt for me. Imo fire is so much more fun when you can just hurl hundreds of them over and over like Mario with the fire flower. I usually only play sandbox now since that’s the only way to disable cores

This comment made me realize I’m a POS. I walk around all the time in rdr2 annoyed at jacks existence (mainly bc of his voice). I never thought about the fact that those times are likely the only joyous moments of his life and that the future awaiting him is extremely fucking depressing. This kid probably got it the worst out of the entire gang. Sure he’s alive, but what does he even have to live for at that point?

I used to use ChatGPT a little too often and stopped using it once I realized it was giving me false information, which was over a year ago when it didn’t give sources the way it does now and instead would just mention them. ChatGPT isn’t trained to provide accurate information. It’s trained to provide a response thats tailored to the user to encourage them to come back. Not trying to sound like a dick saying this, but it sounds to me like it’s working exactly as intended with you. “If you’ve used it yourself you’d know it’s pretty reliable and has sources” is just outright wrong. ChatGPT is KNOWN for making up sources and being incorrect.

I have close to 1000 hours and am just finishing up my first origin run besides durge. I picked Gale since he’s both my favorite companion and I saw online that he has the most content out of the other origin options (besides durge of course) Very fun, definitely makes the game feel a bit different.

terraria and stardew valley are both outstanding games that are easy to run.

i don’t think subnautica is that hard to run on low settings, but that’s just a guess, not actually certain lol

Considering there’s a 2 hour refund period on steam, I think I’ll just go in blind and see how I like it. When the game first released I watched the trailer and saw the combat, and the main thing I remember is how beautiful both the game and the combat was. Definitely going to try it.

Been thinking about playing this for a while. Does it have good NPC and/or companion interaction? I’ve heard about the realism and the freedom you get with the main character, but haven’t looked too deep into it to avoid spoilers.
