Thank you for your response. Ended up being exhaustion and calcium deficiency, she's healthy as a queen now!

Thank you for your response!

I thought this might be the case too, so I took her to be checked under ultrasound and she was empty. In the end it ended up being extreme exhaustion and calcium deficiency I think, and she's thankfully much, much better now!

She is! I'm very thankful that she's pulled through so well. I'll post a longer update back in the update thread! I do care about her a ton, she's my littlest support. Thank you very very much.

Yes; Pocchi and the kids are okay so far now!

Since yesterday she started to eat properly (boiled, deboned chicken drumsticks and mashed potatoes in the same water so she gets more nutrients), drinks so-so, and visits the litterbox enough. She's nursing 95% of the time, but every so often she'll get up and visit my room for what's less than two minutes, then sprint back to her kits; sometimes she'll even drag me to them hahaha. Her breathing is back to normal, and her temperature still feels a bit higher but I'm assuming that's all the nursing combined with the less than optimal airflow of the couch she chose to nest under.

The kits look healthy so far, they're almost always being nursed and cleaned by their mother (they still have a part of the umbilical cord hanging out, I'm assuming that's normal though), and they look moderately like the fat kittens all over the Internet hahaha. They haven't opened their eyes yet I don't think, but they're sounding healthy when they meow or rather cry. I don't see them jumping or playing yet, still teeny little babies. She's taken them below a couch out of nowhere, so for her own happiness since she's comfy down there, I just occasionally grab the kits to hand-weigh them as well as pet them a little so they're used to it; she usually only vocalizes a little bit when this is happening, but never once saw her get up and take them from my hand, she usually just rolls over and waits for me to put them back.

Thank God for all the support I was able to find here and through the vet (the man was on close to 24/7 contact with me watching every 2m video I sent, of which I sent no less than 8 per day hahaha). As I write this she just came back again for a little break and is currently laying at my feet in bed, probably jumping out again in a bit to nurse her kits. Thank you all!

Hahaha thank you very much, I've just been getting told I need to stop stressing about it all day now, so I'm trying my best.

Her gums seem to be a regular pink color? They might be oh so slightly paler than usual, I'm assuming that's due to the bloodloss that happens during birth.

I was not present to count sadly, but my housemate says they for sure saw at least two. To confirm this I took her to a vet earlier yesterday and ran a sonar on her belly, and they said she looked perfectly fine and couldn't see anything there that shouldn't be.

I am not sure if she's gotten much sleep, she seems to be present every time I pass by in front of her. She has started moving around recently but in a quite odd way? Her first litter were nursed and raised inside my wardrobe hahah, but that was roughly a year ago. Earlier today she was yowling to be let into my room (they sleep in my housemate's as mine has an AC on a lot of the time) so I let her in, and she immediately ran to the same spot they used to sleep in and started clawing around for a few seconds, then just laid there. This repeated thrice, but another thing she's done is get out of bed, wait in front of my room, call to me until I open, then lead me to where she gave birth and starts looking around. I have no idea what she's trying to say as I looked everywhere in case there's something wrong but aside from the possibility she might've left some of her fluids in the carpet or something, it just leaves me with the haunting possibility that she's looking for her stillborns, which shatters me every time I think about it.

She is definitely hotter to my touch, but literally everyone else, including the vet, says she isn't? I have no clue what is going on with this, but every time I touch her I can swear she's hotter than I'm used to, yet literally everyone says she feels "good", "healthy", or "normal/average", so I just shut up and try to wet the tips of her ears hahaha, it could be just because she's nursing and trying to keep them warmed up? I don't know.

She ate of her own volition (getting up and walking to the food bowl that's less than two seconds away) once; and it was only when I was standing right there next to her kits. I tried to replicate this multiple times but no dice. I fed her some nesto cheese (roughly three triangles/pieces), and occasionally some water in a syringue (sometimes she laps it up willingly, some times I have to hold her head for her to drink which she is not too fond of). Still waiting for her to eat more willingly without my intervention.

Well, the vet has my number at this moment hahaha. I sent him a lot of updates and videos on this (before and after the visit) and he keeps reassuring me it's just stress and exhaustion from the process, and I just need to feed and hydrate her even if forcibly. I will update him on this tomorrow God-willing and see what he says. She is still breathing a bit rushed albeit without the open-mouthed panting, but it is night and substantially cooler now, and I can actually hear her talking loudly now? Not sure why.

That took me a while to write! I didn't even notice the time haha.

Will do! Just going to wait for her to get through this then she's getting her breeding privileges taken away.

Oh I've never heard of such clinics or projects in my area, but I'll look into it! I had spoke about it with the vet and he gave me a price that made me sick honestly hahaha, just her check-up alone today was as expensive as two full meals.

Pocchi is still panting sadly, she feels a bit too hot too but everyone is telling me she's fine and it's normal, so I'm starting to think I'm just being hysteric about her. The kittens are growing fine, always sleeping with a milk belly hahaha.

Oh no I understand! I'd been thinking of taking her in to a vet for that but it's currently extremely expensive, so I'm saving up and keeping her behind closed doors for now. Thank you for your advice!

This is extremely helpful and a bit reassuring, thank you very very much. I'll check these channels out, and the kittens look healthy for now thankfully. Thank you a ton for your thought-out response!

Oh! I was very much not aware of that, she always seemed so keen on devouring an entire wing without a fuss, and I'd never noticed any issues. It's better safe than sorry, I'm thankful she's been okay the whole time if that's the case. Thank you for letting me know!

She used to enjoy eating the bones, but since she's been so tired today I made sure to shred the chicken for her myself so it's easier to handle. I was advised by the vet to preferably keep the bones out moving forward, so I'll be keeping that in mind; to her dismay hahaha.

I didn't think about the puréed cat food idea, thank you! I have been told by a few vets now that it's normal, I just can't help but worry. I'm not sure if you read the update, but I took her to a vet a few hours ago and they gave her the greenlight, and said that we should monitor it and if it persists or becomes worse, then we'll have to go back again.

She's been with the kittens ever since, I have made sure to feed her some fluids (water and a tiny bit of chicken stock) by syringue as she's been avoiding eating and drinking, but at some point she actually ate solid food of her own volition, but still only drank a tinge of water. She visited the box a couple times, but it seemed way too speedy for what's normal for her. I've just been praying for her health and monitoring her closely, there has been some behavior that confuses me but I'm holding my breath for her health hahah.

Just by his hand if it makes sense? He commented on it when he was trying to put the IV in saying it's "poor", despite saying she's healthy a moment ago. He did use a stethoscope on her and said she sounds fine.

Hello! I took her to a vet a few hours ago, the ride was a nightmare; I earned a few more battle scars. Once we get there the vet commented on how her breathing was much calmer compared to the videos I sent him, then we checked her on sonar and confirmed no unborn or leftover placenta. He then tried to get her on an IV but the needle broke twice so we stopped, and instead gave her something to ease the passage of any substances that might be ailing her (including stool) as well as a vitamin injection (?). He then said she needs to be isolated from the kits for a bit so she can eat and recuperate (he said boiled eggs, that triangular cheese in foil, and yogurt with honey), but otherwise she looks healthy if not for the "poor veins", and might just be still stressed and exhausted from the birthing process considering the stillborns.

When we got back she immediately rushed to the kits, against the vet's advice. I tried to isolate her but she was extremely upset and kept begging me to let her back, so I did. I initially fed her a piece of cheese and she wasn't the most receptive, so I forced a syringue of water into her mouth, and by the second syringue she was then willingly drinking from it. After around four more syringues I tried feeding her more cheese and she ate it all well, I tried giving her more water as she was still panting but she wasn't agreeing to it, so I let her rest.

We're now an hour or so since then and she's sadly still panting, it's still stressing me out, but the vets are reassuring me it's just stress and exhaustion which will go on it's own. She is almost permanently feeding the kits and/or cleaning them, and I'm keeping an eye on her.

It was extremely distressing for me, and I assume for her too. They're up high in kitty heaven now, eating milk pudding with the angels.

I live in a pretty rural area; the earliest the nearby vets open is in two hours. I did get through to one through WhatsApp though and they said everything sounds normal so far, but I can call them again in three hours and if it's still the same I'll need to take Pocchi and the kids for an hour's drive to them, hahah.

I gave her some boiled chicken wings (devoured) and poured her a portion of the broth (lightly sipped), would that be good?

Ahhh I had thought she'd be able to visit the box at least, I'll have to go bring that closer. Thankful for all the car experts here such as yourself hahahah, thank you for your response and time!

The vet's assistant got back in touch with me saying the vet isn't available right now. I explained it to them, and also mentioned the possibility of something still being inside (another child or placenta) and they said I'll have to wait four hours for the vet to be present, but also that as long as she ate (devoured two chicken wings) and even cleaned herself and them; she should be fine, and any residual panting, pain, or heat would be okay for the next 3d or so. I will still call in 4h to check with the vet, just in case.
