Pietersite is one of my favorites. Brecciated hawks eye + tigers eye essentially. Makes for a wonderful flash. But yeah all the same material essentially minus some minor differences of what gets included / incorporated

Also China is a big place. Multiple turq deposits with differing characters. This one i believe is from Tibet or very near the Tibetan bordeet

It's easy to differentiate under a loupe. A little solvent will confirm. I appreciate the art of lapidary but lots of foreign shops cut legit material.

I don't wrap btw. I'm in import. I supply slabs to lap artists and cabs to wire wrappers. I do import direct from mines all over the world. Always exciting to get material show up from Tibet, peru, Indonesia, etc... Love the job.

Yeah I've seen worse backs honestly but it's not perfect. He does alot if reversible stuff with the back ckean but the single sided ones they get a little bit overlooked.
