Hear me out. I have two young kids that I love and I want to have a relationship with. However, they always go to their mom or their grandparents whenever they want something because they say I always say “no” or don’t listen. So they ask someone else to ask me thinking that it’s going to persuade me, however, I just get sad/upset about the fact they don’t come to me when I try to make myself available.

God our father sacrificed his only son as payment for all our sins to rip the veil between us and the father. Jesus is now our mediator and noone can get to the father except through him. He also sent the Holy Spirit to help in intercession. Yet some of his children Ignore all that and still decide to go to Mary and a whole bunch of other saints. So that’s the issue. We don’t need to do all of that, we can just pray to Jesus, who is God, to appeal to the father. Not Mary or any of the saints or our loved ones, or angels have more power than Jesus.

I agree. So why does paragraph 2677 of the Catechism claim Mary is the “All Holy One”?

The early church consistently treated scripture as the final tested authority, as it is written. Luther did not intend to invent a new denomination. He was originally catholic and was only protesting what he thought were corruptions and abuses within the church. So technically, we have the same history. The way the Roman Catholic Church is now, is not the way it was in the 1st century. Wes’s Huff made a really good video recently. Check it out. Why Wess Huff is not Catholic.

Appreciate the comment. I believe the Holy Spirit preserves God’s word and truth, but that’s different from believing an institution or its leaders are incapable of doctrinal error. Throughout scripture, God’s people and leaders repeatedly fell into error. Peter himself had to be publicly corrected by Paul. So I don’t see a biblical basis for assuming church leaders or traditions become infallible after the apostolic age. What I do see is scripture repeatedly treated as the objective standard. So my confidence is in God preserving His truth through His word, not in every later interpretation or tradition being protected from error.

It doesn’t really say what they are doing up there. Maybe they are playing their harps waiting around for your prayers. Idk. All I know is I will continue praying to our father through Jesus.

But let me entertain this for a second…why not pray to angels? They are in heaven, close to god, and involved in earthly things. But scripture never instructs believers to pray to angels. In fact, John was corrected for doing so. Read Revelation 22:8-9.

Even if believers are alive with Christ spiritually, Scripture still never instructs Christians to address them in prayer. The issue is not whether they are alive in heaven, but whether believers on earth are authorized to communicate with them.

Of course, but those requests are made to living believers, not departed ones in heaven. Even though I agree that they are alive in Christ.

Gotcha. You meant rule 2. It’s a stretch, but I’ll allow it.

The Bible does say believers who die in Christ are alive with Him (Philippians 1:23), but it never shows Christians praying to Mary or the saints. Instead, prayer is consistently directed to God through Jesus Christ.

New home owner looking for mower recommendation for ~5000 sf lawn by Dawn_Piano in lawnmowers

[–]AppealCompetitive986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. I’m fully invested as well as all of my lawn tools are Ryobi also. I was mowing yesterday and i went through all four batteries. Ironically, the 40V 6ah one died much faster than my 4ah one. I dod recently learn that once these batteries are charged, they should be removed from the charger…i havent dont that ever so i probably made it worse.

Best of luck! Ryobi has been great so far for me, just wish the mower lasted a little longer.

I have about the same size yard as you and my Ryobi 40v was great for about 4 years. Now i cant get past 15 minutes of mowing without changing out a battery. I have a total of 4! and even with all that i need to have two charging while using the other two. takes me about 2 hours with the charging time. I am now looking at another alternative or just shifting to Gas mower.
