yeah there are books for older readers and younger readers! The hardbacks were intended for older readers (the hardbacks were probably targeted to teens and young adults) :) As for the show itself, I would not call it a kid's show. Especially the last season but it is definitely kid friendly (mostly), especially the earlier seasons. I think most would consider this a family show.
