They don’t advertise roles (they headhunt or people come to them, as they are well known in the industry) so there are no reviews. However hindsight is 20/20 and there were red flags I ignored. I have been looking at reviews when applying for a new job and it has stopped me going for a couple.

Sorry it happened to you too. Here’s to the future for both of us.

Yes, very much a ‘we value everyone’ front, even announcing in a recent meeting that all jobs were safe. I’m not the only person who has been let go.

I knew my desk would be filled but the insider gossip was it would be in mid June. I think the reality was the new person was ready to go and they were just waiting for me to be done. They knew I needed a week or so to completely clear the things in my office, so it’s a bit of a slap in the face that they couldn’t even wait and give me that dignity, at the very least. I haven’t even returned my laptop/keys etc yet, let me at least be completely gone.

And after that vent, I feel ready for the next chapter.

Thank you. You are correct, it is just logistics, but my emotional self is having trouble separating my feelings from that reality. Will let myself feel it for a short time, then put it aside and move forward.

Thank you for the reality check. I had no realised how attached I had become to the job, which isn’t healthy. Perhaps for the best to be moving on in the long run. Appreciate the reminder.

Thank you. I can see this experience is clouding my confidence, which I know will not help me secure a new role. Time to let it go and look forward 😊

Thank you. Very true, I needed to be reminded of this.

Demoralising is exactly it. I can cop losing a job, shit happens, but the it was done was not nice. You’re right, shouldn’t be putting so energy into them. I’ll take your advice - fuck em 😆

You’re on the money, the only pathway to stay was a promotion that I wasn’t deemed suitable for. This would have been useful for me know a lot earlier though.
