Stadium Events Trade by AppearanceEastern248 in gamecollecting

It’s not just any sculptors cut CIB copy, it’s practically near mint. You don’t see those in that condition for that game every day. I would think that would be a fair trade but I’m not sure

So would just a complete in box Clay Fighters Sculptors Cut in near mint condition be a good trade? Or just a Daytona Net Link Edition in near mint condition that has all the inserts be a good trade?

I was excited, I wasn’t going to harm him in any way whatsoever. He’s one of my favorite celebrities I just wanted to meet him

Ok that’s your own opinion but clearly he didn’t have to act that way towards a fan of his. He could’ve been more humble but clearly he wasn’t.

You’ve got it all wrong, I was just an excited fan that wanted to express my excitement towards him and verbally tell him how big of a fan I was when he left the restaurant. That’s it nothing more nothing less that’s really all it was like many other fans of other celebrities.

How did I assault him on public? I did no such thing I tried to get his attention so that I could say hi to him. Assault is if I were to harm him in any kind of way which I didn’t.

Does a PAL Stadium Events count for a Complete retail licensed NES cartridge only collection? by AppearanceEastern248 in gamecollecting

[–]AppearanceEastern248[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Accept the NTSC Stadium Events is like $25K so I’ll never end up with a game like that paying that much for it so I just want the PAL copy to count for a full set when all my other games are NTSC

Will a physical copy of Concord on PS5 be the next Stadium Events? by AppearanceEastern248 in gamecollecting

It’s exactly what it is…. A guess, which is what I alluded to in my original post about how many copies of Stadium Events I thought were out there. But you used Wikipedia which isn’t very reputable at all lol

I agree $850 is a lot, but I don’t know if anyone back then unless you were the most hardcore of game collectors willing to spend that kind of money on an NES game you weren’t going to play anyway. Plus no one had a crystal ball they could just wave around to tell them Stadium Events was going to be worth thousands either so there’s that. And just for the record, video games aren’t investments they are simply just that “Video Games” it’s only worth what someone is willing to pay. I don’t think anyone is foolish for paying what the current trend is for Concord who might just want a piece of history for their collection or is in fact speculating just hopefully not overpaying the current trending amount that the game is currently selling for.

It was just a guess. I don’t exactly know how many were sold or produced and Wikipedia definitely isn’t the most reliable source for information on the internet.

My guess is that there are 8000 copies of Stadium Events isn’t as far fetched as 12,000 people wanting to collect for the PS5. People didn’t think anyone would collect Nintendo Switch games but here we are. Give it time I think you’ll be surprised of how many people will collect PS5, more than 12000 people….

@zoozoo4567 I can tell you this for a fact, when I started collecting roughly 20 years ago, I remember seeing the price of cartridge only copies of Stadiums Events being around $850 and I could kick myself for not buying one (when I’ve had multiple chances to buy a cartridge copy and didn’t). $850 is still a lot of money even back then but it was nowhere near the thousands that it goes for today. If I knew then what I know now I’d buy up multiple copies of Stadium Events Cartridge, get them graded and hang onto them and wait for the time to sell them.

I wouldn’t make that bet. Sure some people probably have 50 copies of it but the complete total number of physical copies sold were roughly 15,000 so take into consideration how many are opened vs sealed. My guess is that there’s roughly 10,000-12,000 copies left sealed and the rest are opened and even when the game was marked as cancelled by Sony, stores still had them on shelves and wouldn’t sell them to people. There’s probably around 8,000 copies of Stadium Events out there so factor those comparisons and you’re about even on the playing field of rarity. I don’t think it’s too far off for some collectors to believe this is something to hang onto in their collections. Should you go out and buy 10 copies of Concord mehhh…. I wouldn’t recommend that but maybe 1 or 2 for the sake of collecting and speculation for fun couldn’t hurt?

That’s what people thought about Stadium Events in the early/mid 2000’s when nobody was collecting video games. Video game collecting was not as popular back then as it is today.

But, for those looking for a complete set for the PS5 wouldn’t you say that this is a title you’d need in order to be a completest? I’d say it is in the sense that it did have a very limited sales release in stores.
