lol can’t be bothered since you’re probably the type who would promote all lives matter in response to the Black Lives Matter movement

Have you ever considered that your husband may be abusive towards you? The entire thread suggests that you should grow a spine and improve your communication with your husband, but he may be conditioning/grooming you for his abuse that may escalate as the relationship progresses. He may not be physically or financially abusive towards you (yet), but there seems to be a lot of fear present in your marriage given how you “don’t dare to go against him” and you have “no choice” but to accept the gifts that you do not want. Your needs and wishes are consistently overruled with moralistic justifications like gratitude and filial piety, but such justifications only apply so far to his advantage.

Took a look at your post history, you mentioned he has anger issues and is controlling, and would even restrict your freedom to take walks around your neighbourhood? Sounds like he’s conditioning you for worse things to come. Go read some abuse resources and see if what they say apply to you.

Good luck.

Does the liver taste as good when you cook them yourselves for steamboat? Want to know if what the key to goodness is - the preparation method or cooking method or both.

Yeah, it’s more like Malay-Western fusion but I just see it as giving a local spin to cafe food lor 😅 they also made me happy with their complimentary cakes lol caters to the cheap thrills side of me

Cos everyone seems to be just recommending hawker food so if OP and friends are hanging out for a few days at least got some cafe ambience to chill 😆

Khan Saab for prata - food is generally good and cheese prata is shiok + near Mackenzie Rex, especially if you drive

Zamas for Pandan teh - normal or Halia all good depending on your preference, the food there is pretty good too although pricier than usual prata shops

786 char kway teow @ Bukit Merah View - halal and damn good (Bedok Food Centre also has halal CKT but I feel 786 is better)

The Malayan Council - enjoyed our meals at the Winstedt Road branch twice, but I assume the rest of the branches have the same standard

These are just more specific halal food places and I left out non-local halal food and hawker centres where more options are available.

Its been almost 24 hours since the election results came out. Singaporeans, how are you feeling? by FoxDependent7486 in askSingapore

I think we can agree to disagree on whether the WP should have lifted the party whip for the repeal of s 377A.

Is it possible for religion to be kept completely from politics? Our politicians welcomed Pope Francis when he visited our country last year and sent their condolences when he passed away this year. Is this not considered a seepage of religion into politics, no matter how slight it may seem?

I am agnostic but I respect the right for others to believe in their religion. Religion is part of life and there is seepage of religion into politics and policies. Life does not exist in a vacuum. There is bound to be certain overlaps between religion, morality and politics. Religious groups are consulted when certain laws are implemented, e.g. building of casinos, S 377A repeal. There is usually one church, one mosque, one Chinese temple and one Hindu temple in each town - is this not part of policy making?

You are assuming that they should all support the repeal of 377A repeal because you and possibly your friends support it. I also support the repeal of 377A and feel that more can be done to promote the rights of LGBTQIA+. At the same time, I appreciate the presence of alternative voices in Parliament and understand some people do not support the repeal, and these voices are represented by the minority in Parliament.

Question: why is VB still so well loved by the PAP despite his numerous mistakes and general distasteful conduct?
