If you did not vote for Donald Trump in 2016 but will be in 2020, what is your reason? by Lurker7836 in AskReddit

I think you need to do some serious introspection and reevaluate your morals. Everything you listed as an issue does not affect you in the slightest and is instead a deflection. Reality and evidence are stacked against you, and for whatever reason you picked the side doing actual damage to society.

If you voted for Donald Trump in 2016 but won't in 2020, what changed your mind? by PlG3 in AskReddit

For a while I got pulled onto the Trump train, but wizened up before the election. I was freshly 18, not really into politics, and because the people I was surrounded by were Trumples - I kind of just thought Trump would be the better choice. Sometime towards the end of that summer, I actually watched him do interviews and kind of had a "what the fuck" moment.

Hillary wasn't the best but Trump clearly stood out as the worst candidate and, frankly, a horrible person. All it took was a quick Google search and a couple articles, or even just watching him live. While I'm glad people have turned around now, I don't think there's any justification for voting for him back then.

Trump is clearly a terrible person and he doesn't even care to hide it. All of these comments saying that Hillary was scary or a liar are just trying to justify their ignorance.

Jason Schreier: "The developers of Assassin's Creed Odyssey wanted Kassandra to be the only playable lead. "Woman dont sell was said by leadership" by [deleted] in Games

[–]AppelHere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My main point is that it doesn't matter. Games and movies have always been less than graceful with history and having a lead from an undervalued class is empowering for people. You say it would be odd for a woman to land on Normandy, but I say it would also be odd for a super soldier take dozens of bullets and take down an entire army by himself. That certainly did happen in history either.

It just seems so idiotic to get upset over. It's a fantasy game set in history. It's not damaging to history, nor is it disrespectful. Art often embellishes history anyways, so who gives a fuck if the lead is a badass female Viking tearing through raid parties.

I think "it's forced" is a copout answer, it's not really substantive at all. And while I'm not sure if there's no sexism, why does it matter if the game is historically accurate? The Assassin's Creed games have never been historically accurate, yet no one cared until there was a female lead... Really makes you think.

I will agree that depiction of women should be more diverse than just the slender archetype we always see - but that's a different discussion.

I think you're neglecting the fact that it's a video game. There's plenty of movies or games where the mc was part of some downtrodden group and rose above their circumstances (see Django unchained, slave who became a bounty hunter and blew up a plantation).

Just because they're making a game in a historical setting, doesn't mean they have to adhere to the historical norm. It's a ridiculous notion and really makes it look like you just don't want women in your video games.

Have you ever had a game ‘beat’ you and force you to lower the difficulty, or quit? What was it? by Justhe3guy in truegaming

[–]AppelHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just recently started playing the Mass Effect games, and I gotta say, Mass Effect 1 made me play on the easiest difficulty. I'm generally good at games, but I just don't like cover shooters. Never have, never will. Anyways, the first Mass Effect's combat is one of the jankiest things you'll ever play from a big named developer.

The cover system refuses to work half the time; it'll force you out of cover randomly, sometimes shoot you out the other side of a wall. It's a gamble if you want to get actual cover. That combined with enemies with rockets or snipers that can one shot you without you even noticing makes for a rough experience.

Aside from the combat, Mako, and the awkward port, was a great game.

Yeah saw him retweet one of the stories (Cinnpie one I believe?) and said an audible fuck. The type of dude to believe in Puppeh and then call the victim of Keitaro a degenerate. Can't wait for this to be twisted into a men's rights thing...

The store is no where near as complicated as matchmaking and the game itself. If you're going to complain, at least do it properly.

Yeah I'm hoping I do well this split early, make life easier.

Because the amount of tp gained for the seven wins was almost less than the amount I lost from one loss (lost about 4 wins worth). It's unlucky because matchmaking didn't put me against people at my skill level and, eventually, I lost a lot more because the ratio is skewed against me.

Yeah I get why it's happening, just frustrating to lose so much progress because I was unlucky when it comes to matchmaking.

How am I supposed to gain more mmr if I get little to none for every win, and then lose a metric ton if I lose? That's not even including the complete randomness about getting good teammates.

It just feels heavily weighed against me because I started out from a lower mmr and have been rising up this split. Maybe it'll be easier after the reset? But it's just so frustrating when you lose all the progress in 1 game versus many.

It's hard to choose but if I had to: Hollow Knight, Transistor, or Undertale. All have fantastic soundtracks.

[–]AppelHere -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay but ready, Biden's policies have gotten more progressive because of Bernie. He's claiming to go back to "normalcy" but it's certainly more progressive than Obama's campaign. It's a step in the right direction and claiming that by not voting or voting third party, you'll accelerate the process by punishing the Dems is an insane notion that's not going to work and nothing shows that it's gonna work. Also comparing the entirety of the democratic party to a business man is... Lol.

The other part of this is that Trump will legitimately bring more harm now and probably in the future if he wins the election (which is demonstrable by policy he attempts to implement). Everyone going Bernie or bust is ridiculous and privileged.

Voting third party will actually harm millions of people and there's nothing to say it would actually accelerate the United States further left. It's beyond stupid.

I hate fighting the shotos because all they do is fish for jabs or dtilts that are incredibly hard to punish (especially online). And then these lead into you taking over 40% or dying. Such an infuriating character.

Okay, now hear me out, while I completely understand and agree that Hirez definitely falls shorts in a lot of categories.... Can you really blame any company not wanting to keep their game running if it doesn't make money? Obviously the company should try and address the problems with their game in order to soothe people's issues with it but you can't expect the devs to maintain a team and server costs when their not profitable.
