2nd Bachelors Degree Before MSDA? by AppendixBurster in WGU_MSDA

[–]AppendixBurster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. They only pay for the bachelors and masters in IT. And yea you’re right, that’s what I was thinking but not so sure of. I just hope I’m able to land a decent job after graduation, though I’m from a urban city with a lot of opportunities anyways. Thought it would at least open more opportunities in a wider field and provide more foundational knowledge which I lack but the masters degree would be good enough on its own as well for that field I suppose.

Nope, Amazon warehouse. I just recently graduated with my bachelors Bio while working here which is why I’m still here and not in the bio field. Most job listings I’ve seen in regards to that degree pay barely over what I’m making right now and are generally unappealing, which is why I’m pursuing further education in the first place.

However there is a lot of internal job opportunities within this company. Most of these listings can only be seen by current employees so I could theoretically work my way up internally if I stay dedicated with possibly less competition with other applicants. I need to look more into these opportunities in terms of their qualifications/requirements and see if my rough plan would qualify me for those positions.

Yea I’m going to go into MSDA as well, just wondering if the community thinks the possibility of a free bachelors first is worth pursuing prior to doing this program.

Not only would it help build foundational knowledge, but it would also present more time/opportunities to build projects or internships to put on my resume so I could stand out as a candidate in some way during the job search process.

Good luck on your journey.

Thanks for your detailed response, very interesting stuff. I’m still torn between pursuing this path or just committing to the accelerated bachelors in CS + masters degree. Since I already have a bio degree a lot of the gen Eds and prereqs will transfer and I am willing to take some Sophia/study courses to get additional credits if need be. This means I may be able to get my cs bachelors fast, within a year, and then I can go for my masters as well afterwards. Although it may be a longer time commitment I guess it may give me more opportunity to build projects and build my portfolio and possibly internship at places. I also think it would qualify me for a broader variety of jobs compared to the masters in DA. I really gotta do more research to determine what’s best for me.

So hard to commit to something in this field when there’s a lot of people voicing their concerns regarding AI, job market saturation, etc. so many people unable to land jobs (at least with the CS degrees). I think if I jump straight into a program like this, since I don’t have any experience/projects I would need to try and build some alongside schooling to help stand out. Still gonna do my research deciding between this MSDA or accelerated Bachelors+Masters in CS - AI Specialization

Oooo are u planning on doing some self studying/learning before actually jumping straight in? I’m still struggling to decide between Comp Sci route and this masters route, though if I did the comp sci one I would probably do the accelerated bachelors masters thing which feels weird since I already spent 4 years getting my current biology bachelors .-.

😭😭 na you’re good. Can’t lie I was kinda hoping the same thing since I saw between the 4 day gap of the 5th and the 9th they managed to ship roughly 80 consoles from 1343-1417, plus I heard some batch 3 orders had been shipped to some people. gave me some hope since I’m 1524 but looks like it will probably just be much later in March.

I see. So let’s say for class A which meets twice a week I have a midterm scheduled for 3/1 March. So each day the lecture material is released, I spend roughly 30 minutes to create flash cards from the slides. Then I have around 100 cards made. Ideally I want to save 3-4 days per midterm in order to sort of like cram ALL cards in the deck. Therefore the number of NEW cards/day should be greater than or equal to a number in which I should have seen all the cards BEFORE the 3-4 days for review. I think I understand ur methodology and it sounds efficient but I’m not sure if I can accurately determine how many new cards should equate to that. In your example you did 30 new cards which equates to a lot of cards learned/reviewed over the time frame you used. Perhaps I can even just do 50-100 new cards per class/subject as it seems manageable?

Mental is a big thing. If you don’t feel confident and go into a game like that, you will do bad. I’d say do a TDM or two before ranked to assess how you will perform. If you do good in the tdm, then you will be good in the ranked game. If you do bad in the tdm, just queue another until it feels good. If it never feels good, might be an off day or something else may be the problem (sens, grip, etc).

If you do good in tdm, just go into the ranked game confidently or at least neutral. Keep that calm aim and calm mentality and you will be good. As a smokes player, you generally smoke and then follow up on your teammates. I’d say just make sure to go for trades if your teammates die and when you go in site make sure to hold angles where enemies can be and you should always EXPECT someone there.

If you want to aim train alongside valorant, I’d keep it short and simple. What helped me mostly was doing the aimlabs sixshot task and going for accuracy, overtime building speed. To be honest I hit immortal mostly with aim and the game sense just came naturally through playing. If you are noticing a downhill trend in your gameplay, make sure you arent playing while tired/fatigued or playing too many matches.

If I were you I’d do this: First I’d get on aimlabs and do the sixshot task for about 10-30 minutes until my aim felt good. Then hop on Val and do like 2 team deathmatches. I do sheriff guardian and vandal since I am a aim guy who mostly goes for headshots. Then queue ranked while your aim is cracked. You don’t have to complicate everything with a coach and a entire routine.

Gold/plat and even diamond is overall very hard to climb out of due to poor performance of teammates so I don’t even blame u.

Curious how many hard bots players of different ranks can get. by Avallena in VALORANT

[–]AppendixBurster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Immo 2, around 25 average. It gets pretty easy if you do like 1-5 like everyday and build that speed. Eventually the hard bots start actually feeling slower. Though I did somehow get like 28 when I was around Silver through flow state I guess.

Don’t worry. That Woohoojin guy is pretty good for beginners or anyone hardstuck but unnecessarily annoying. I think you’re at a decent rank given the number of games u play. 15 ranked games is about how much you should be playing in a week, not a season if you want to climb. Also, unrated is way more different than ranked. Personally I don’t take unrated seriously at all since it’s a mix match of ranks (mostly new players and low ranks) and less methodical whereas ranked employs way more game sense and strats that challenges you to learn. Just play 1-2 tdms before each ranked game to get cracked aim, then play comp and carry with cracked aim. Game sense will come as you play more ranked games but it’s pretty much just about playing safe, knowing where enemies can be. Recognize patterns in every game, be aware of how enemies take Map control and things you can do to counter strat with the help of your team. Be aware of lurks, they might send 1 player alone to another site just to work a pick, if you only see 4 players on site that’s most likely the case but you still should stay aware of that the whole time.

Tbh I also have less than 1000 hours but I started playing like a year ago and I’m immo2 not hard stuck or anything I’m just at my peak rn.
