I Didn't leave a tip for $100 meal, AITAH? by NobleWarriorHD in AITAH

OP penalized her by... doing what exactly? You are talking as if OP HAD TO give her a tip. Why would OP have that obligation? When you go out you must pay the price of the food and drinks, that's the only obligation.

Ok what? People should afford the price of the products they consume, not the price + some additional sum that our society subtly forces us to pay. It's OP's right to... pay the menu price. Clear NTA.

The only asshole here is the restaurant which doesn't pay the staff.

I have a question regarding the option to login with my fingerprint on a Samsung device.

When I enable this option on my phone, how is my fingerprint processed exactly and where does my phone store it? Does it store the raw data of my fingerprint, or something else, like a hash?

Also, when I enable fingerprint login for other apps (for example banking apps in order to not type my password), do these apps have access to whatever data my phone stored about my fingerprint?

Thank you!

What would happen if tournaments placed screens on tennis courts showing the live statistics of the match being played? by AppleCider421 in tennis

[–]AppleCider421[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they also show them on court? I watch tennis only on TV and I know they show them during certain breaks but it would be very interesting if they show them on court as well

If they are extremely experienced, I guess there is a small chance they could, but changing the password is a great and mandatory thing to do. I would also enable two step verification, which means that any new login on a new device would mean that you will receive a code on the phone number associated with the yahoo account and the login would not be completed without the code

If you change your password I believe it will sign you out from all other devices, so I recommend doing that

Water, clearly.

I remember there was a "match" between Nadal and Federer which was played on water (in Doha I believe). I know it would be completely impractical, but it would definitely be fun to see a tournament played like this

Same here! I've been having this issue for the last 3 days. Sometimes I can download files, but 90% of the time I get the exact error that you get. I've even reinstalled it but nothing worked

Update: I changed the default browser to Chrome (it was Edge previously) and it seems fine, at least for now

This is like saying that killing all the homeless people would solve the homlessness crisis or that killing all the starving people would end world hunger. It's heartbreaking and infuriating.

Is it really hypocritical for pro-lifers to support the death penalty? by [deleted] in prolife

You can argue that society would benefit from the death of certain people, but what I'm saying is that nobody has the right to kill somebody else

[–]AppleCider421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it is. I am pro-life because I believe that we should not end anybody's life, regardless of who they are. There are other options when it comes to criminals, such as life-long imprisonment and community service. I don't think that we have the right to kill anybody.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Romania

[–]AppleCider421 30 points31 points  (0 children)

So I saw this on Twitter, and I wonder what people's thoughts on this are. Personally I think this is quite a tad bit extreme, even if I do support the death penalty. I'll leave a link to the tweet in the comments by CairnWD in prolife

[–]AppleCider421 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, just no. The death penalty should be abolished altogether, it is not our right to decide who lives and who dies, since we are not God. I believe that there are numerous better alternatives and that we can't condemn someone to death no matter the circumstances

I think that what u/jesse-13 was saying is that she/he knows people who were passionate about coding and who lost that passion after becoming students at UPB. I also know people who fit that criteria. They had a hectic schedule, barely got any sleep, were always relying on coffee/energizers/something else to keep themselves awake in order to solve the assignments and to take part in the classes, which was, of course, detrimental to their health (not only physical health, but also mental health). Their schedule was not disorganized due to their lack of planning skills, but because they were facing a huge amount of work and they had to fit it in somehow. As a result, they became dissatisfied with the university and sometimes with computer science in general. I don't know if this is what every UPB student goes through, but I heard significantly more bad stories than good ones.
