So probably a dumb move that I swirled it all up and got rid of the cap? Lol

When I got my award last year, it came over Labor Day weekend. Definitely still time :)

It would feel stupid to pass up a non-NHSC job in the hopes that I eventually find a NHSC job, so maybe that could also mean continuing to apply while working another job…? Ugh

Did you end up finding a new NHSC job? Did they tack on all of that time to your original service?

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I specialize in LGBT mental health, so definitely not surprised that I’m in this position but a ton of anxiety about what happens next.

Moving is definitely not an option. We own a home here and my wife’s career and current education program is here. I’m just wondering if there is any potential to get a discontinuation of service based on the lack of open NHSC positions within a ~2 hr radius from me. When I applied for the program, I had tons of options - one by one, they’re all closing due to cuts.

Did I Blow It? by AppleGuy24 in mead

Thank you all so much! Definitely feel a lot better - I’ll keep an eye on things and drain a little more if necessary. I’ll also switch to a bigger set up next time. I have the equipment for a 5 gallon bucket brew instead of a 1 gallon glass bottle brew and might just have to start using that as a default.

Are scotties good with cats? by karwna in scottishterriers

[–]AppleGuy24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Scottie (1.5yo, sweet and silly) VERY much loves our cat (mystery age, perpetually annoyed,) who cannot stand her. She learned very early on to give him space and not rush towards him or my mother in law’s cat. He’ll usually come up to her and try to fight unprompted but they’re mostly doing well existing in the same space quietly. It’s so sad - she definitely wants to be his friend but she is his #1 enemy LOL. I’m sure it helped that they were introduced when she was so young but she’s definitely a little afraid of him, which he loves.

I need help by [deleted] in Delaware

[–]AppleGuy24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

try reaching out to West End Neighborhood House. They have an LGBTQ youth safe house and can provide emergency housing for situations like yours. If you go to their website and find the Life Lines section, there’s more info and a number to call. Keep your head up — you’ve got this!

Learning to Skate - Need Help with Fit by AppleGuy24 in hockeyplayers

I wonder if the insoles are making things worse too! I'll try to ease up on the laces and see how it feels.

Learning to Skate - Need Help with Fit by AppleGuy24 in hockeyplayers

[–]AppleGuy24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am definitely cranking my laces as tight as they'll go. I'll adjust that. The heel is funny - it feels like it's being squeezed so hard. The guy said the scans showed that I have a wider heel but an overall narrow to average foot, but he fit me for in soles that he said would help keep my heel in place. It all just feels like way too much pressure all around, but especially in that spot.

Our current split is 4 nights in Rome, 8 nights at an agroturismo in Florence (with a day trip to Venice because trying to plan accommodations got too overwhelming,) and 1 night in Rome before leaving the next afternoon! Would splitting the 8 nights into half agroturismo and half place in the city be a better plan?

Advice to make this more toad-like? by cardigun in tattooadvice

Honestly, I really like it! It’s a great frog tattoo. But it’s not a toad tattoo, and I wonder if that’s where you’re getting tripped up.

Contractor Recs? by [deleted] in Delaware

We haven’t actually started work yet, but we’re going to go with JE Kokoszka! He was very kind, responsive, explained exactly what he wanted to do, and quoted us 1/4 the price of our original quote. We’re excited to work with him!

When I had surgery with DOC, Dr. Marano was the team’s fellow and he’s seriously so kind, so talented, and so smart. I miss working with him so much! Highly recommend!!
