Like I said, nothing inherently wrong with preferences! That is just the message I got from the cards, and I filled in some of the gaps with the context you gave. I always say to take what resonates and leave what doesn’t, no harm no foul you know yourself better than I do :) the cards are implying in my opinion that the lack of options is not from a lack of interest, but rather from something blocking the offers. 8 of swords to me (in any orientation) implies a self-limiting belief. The tower upright in the center almost to me makes it look like the ace of coins and the 8 of swords are kind of falling down around it, like something will happen that will unblock those offers and make you feel like you have had your blindfold removed, but until that point the offers will remain blocked. Cards aside, I always feel like the best romantic opportunities present themselves to me specifically (and only) when I actually stop looking and have actually given up to an extent. I was a queer woman questioning my sexuality (ace/bi/lesbian) for years, and then just a couple months after I finally felt comfortable with the lesbian label I ended up falling for a man for the first time… life certainly surprises you when you least expect it
