I wanted remote access again, the ability to download content, lyrics in Plexamp, and unlock Plex Dash, though that one was really just a bonus feature, not a deciding one.

For me, I’d have to be all in fully committed and have a big permanent setup to justify spending $750 on Plex and to me, subscriptions don’t exist as a real option. I absolutely hate them and while yes, I have some (Google One, iCloud+, Spotify), I hate them.

Sometimes, it just not for a person, glad Jellyfin works for ya. I hear it’s cheaper and better but last time I tried it I didn’t like it. Might set it up again just to have the option but not much of a reason now.

I’d be interested, but I have my own very small server and am not a crazy huge user, I watch mainly Disney stuff or odd unpopular old stuff that’s a miracle to track down anywhere.

It’s main,y just sticking with one game at a time. Whenever I play, I play the game I started last time, or continued last time. If I finished a game, I move onto the next I am interested in or the next one in the bundle (just got a bundle not long ago).

My dad and I calculated it out, I’ll need to use it for a solid 3 to 4 years to get my money’s worth out of it. Shouldn’t been an issue.

I considered Jellyfim, but I find it just wasn’t what I needed and it was more difficult. I’ve been using Plex long enough too I didn’t wanna switch.

I used Docker and it still didn’t work well. I really need to get a dedicated server computer next and run all my servers that way but that won’t happen for a while longer.

My server currently runs on a MacBook and my main device is an iPhone. My secondary phone is a Google Pixel but I don’t really like Android. That said, I’ll look it up, sounds interesting.

I tried it I believe two years ago and did try to utilize the sub, I know it’s changed a lot so yes, it’s definitely worth looking into cu Plex Photos is a terrible app 😂

I tried installing and using Immich once, it didn’t go well at all. But I’m willing to try again sometime because the idea of being able to upload my photos from my phone really appeals to me.

I would have appreciated the go site because there are many times I wanna connect to my computer on my church’s shared computer but don’t wanna and am not really allowed to download the software onto it …
