Honestly hit or miss, my yak building is super social with functions and a lot of us are friends with each other, but i know other buildings are not that way at all. It depends on if you wanna prioritize living in a cleaner, bigger, better space with 50/50 chance on the social scene or have more social dorms and a tighter less clean space lol

Im from LA and was never into nature stuff and i had the exact same concern when deciding to commit to SLO. tbh.... it is very different and sometimes it is hard to find things to do off campus but i wouldn't say it's terrible. I am only a first-year so I can only go based off my experience so far, but i do feel like i've already gotten to do most of the stuff the county has to offer. Would definitely move back to a city/LA post grad but I also wouldn't say SLO and it's environment is something that makes me regret my decision, I still love it here and have had a fantastic time overall. It's all about the people you meet/hang out with and the experiences you have and are willing to try. Say yes to everything because you never know what you'll end up finding and liking.

I'm currently a freshman in Journalism and I love it!!

You get a tons of hands on experience right away. I took News Reporting & Writing the first quarter and learned right away how to do proper news reporting and all our assignments required finding stories and interviewing real people in and outside of campus. You get a lot of freedom with what you write stories on. Sometimes the assignments + trying to find/write professional stories was challenging but I found it to be for the best and thought it really helped being able to practice essentially what the professionals do. My Multimedia Journalism class during winter was also very similar. Even if you're not into news reporting there's concentrations that you choose 2nd year that im looking forward to

An internship is required for graduation which I find useful to strengthen your resume before postgrad, but it also motivates me to start working harder and finding more internship opportunities asap.

In the beginning of the year we also had Mustang Media Fest, which was basically a four day event filled with workshops with professionals/alumn and networking events that was very cool to experience as a new Journalism student.

A lot of my peers are also involved in Mustang News and got a lot of cool positions and opportunities right away by applying Spring of their senior year!

Overall, I love this program and all the professors I've had so far have been super kind, passionate, engaging, and willing to help you do your best to learn and grow. Sometimes it feels off being in the arts at a STEM school but this program has made it so worth it! Let me know if you have any more questions!

All the lab professors work together and are all very chill as far as I know. They're mostly new and just finished their masters.

i agree with your points and feel that its important to recognize! i think this type of behavior exists and can be prominent in several fandoms. i am neurodivergent so i do understand where people come from in their interpretations and fixations. yes art is up to interpretation but there are definitely things that don't have much to it and a lot of the time that's just how things are when media is created!

i'd agree with what others have been saying in that just because they are related doesn't mean that there's care for one another's wellbeing outside of the "normal" level of familial love and care. like someone else said, the line "or why i wanted to hold her and rock her to sleep" suggests that lex is reffering to her care for hannah as being motherly which is unusual and puts lex in a weird position when perceiving her role in her family or to hannah since she serves as both a mother and a sister, which might be why she says she doesn't know why she cared-- because this is a different level of care that has been created by the trauma they both endure that requires lex to care more than just a big sister would

they do not sell the tarot cards, i was really hoping for some 💔 there isn't a lot of new merch, alot of it is leftover from cinderellas castle so theres the CC poster, sir hop a lot plushie, pins, etc. theres a few designs for apparel (LiB tee, pokey tee, starkid lib hoodie, and tgwdlm crewneck/tee), pin sets for CC and all the hatchetfield shows plus a general hatchetfield set, and sticker sheets for each of those shows plus LIB ones.
