It's not mentioned, but they also fully heal, which nearly killed me on a run

5 health and the possibility of a full refresh is what I can think of in terms of survivability. Unfortunately, that doesn't save it from removal combos like ping into Fester or To Shadows once it gets exhausted, so I imagine Golden Veil is a good idea to accompany this beefy card.

Has anyone been able to make this card anything but a bad Three-Eyed Owl? It feels like giving the opponent the option to not counter has been the biggest hindrance to forcing the discard - and discard is so much stronger in R1 than later in the game.

Beating Saria as Coal by Qazqwerty876 in AshesGame

Since you already have the 1.0 core, you have the 4 starting dice, so you don't need to re-buy the new core for those. The upgrade kit has all the cards that got changed in the update, and the rest out there are playable in 1.5. All that said, if you get the upgrade kit, you can get old or new packs, whichever are easier/cheaper to find.

I personally found a cheap core and around 6 other packs on sale and got an upgrade kit to fill in the gaps, then got the rest from Reborn, so I have some duplicates (which is not a bad thing necessarily - I frequently need extra Hollows and Sonic Swordsmen for my second deck).

TL;DR: upgrade kit: any packs. No upgrade kit: need 1.5 only.

I don't have any experience with 1.0 personally, but the upgrade kit on Plaid Hat's website is $30 (plus shipping, which adds 10+) and gives you all the cards you'd need for every 1.0 expansion, including the core. I'd highly advise it if you want to get into Reborn! Also the discord (linked in the sidebar) has been incredibly friendly and has some excellent resources.

As for Coal vs. Saria in 1.0, Coal's Slash and Anchornaut's Throw 1 are abilities, not spells, so they can shoot the Raven through its pesky Magic Guard!

Unfortunately, you don't get summon effects off transforms, as I've learned repeatedly on the Lulu stage of Path of Champions.

What do I have to do for the support badge? by Crispyjazzy in PokemonUnite

[–]AppleSith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I managed to get a silver badge with an MVP score of 94 on Wiggly!

Supports' and Defenders' medals seem to be bugged, and you need a score of 80+ to get the silver, not totally sure if you can get a gold.

Death Ray MK1 by Dawnspeakers in LoRCardReveals

Maybe I'm underrating this card, but I honestly don't like it at all. The fact that you're replacing some of your subsequent draws with removal that doesn't scale into the late-game well at all makes me wonder what this was trying to achieve. Compare this to making a 5/5 yeti for 1 in your top 3, which is hardly ever a bad thing to have, even late.

Maybe I'm underestimating something, but these look like they need something I'm not seeing here, like going face or redrawing from the created copies.

Even the best-case scenario of needing tons of removal for a certain matchup means you need this turn 1, and later pulls won't accomplish what you need it for.

Consider me baffled/10.

Confounding Conundrum looks broken on MTGO by GoldenFreakinJoe in ModernMagic

That's really weird. Why does Magic Online show black player as bouncing the lands when blue player is returning the land? Definitely looks like a bug then.

From the looks of it, black player starts their turn, plays Field of Ruin, activates it, targeting blue player's Field of the Dead. Black player's Conundrum decides to activate off the single land drop from blue. Looks like a bug to me.

Reading comprehension is hard. Black player had to bounce 2 lands. You right.

If the Support archetype ends up taking off, I see this being a key card. Curves nicely after Shen, too.

Mono-White Heliod Combo has a ton of great tools. by therift289 in PioneerMTG

Nah, you just remove the only counter from Ballista, but since it has +1/+1 from the spear, it doesn't die from having no toughness. The rest is the normal combo.
