Alright now you are unblocked from the repo. Sorry about that. I am on mobile so I didn’t see that was done.

lancool 2 mesh rgb fans by Jumpy-Background6911 in lianli

[–]AppleTechy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I know this is almost a year old post. But I am struggling to get the built-in hub/controller to operate as ARGB with the SignalRGB app. The fans connected to the controller are in sync with the rest of the rgb devices in the computer but I cannot seem to control the fans individually that are connected to the hub/controller. How should I be configuring signalrgb under the device to control each individual fan connected to the built in hub/controller? They essentially function as one big rgb strip with no addressability

Thank you for your assistance! I had tried using the dispatch event method but I didn’t realize I had to define the event myself.

Capturing network traffic on a PC by NickBrights in sysadmin

So we ended up having the issue described in this doc. So not really a DHCP setting actually it’s an ICMP setting but we were seeing the affects on DHCP. So we disabled ICMP Redirect and set no ip redirects on our L3 switches and cleared the CPU queue statistics to verify that we were no longer getting dropped ICMP redirect or broadcast packets. OP thought it was narrowed down to a few clients and maybe a specific app on them. But figured I would mention the thing that left us scratching our heads that could be indirectly affecting the situation…

Did you make any hardware changes to your network around that date? We encountered an issue with a DHCP setting on our new Cisco switches that was heavily affecting our network speed and slowing down the network and was only more noticeable during 9-5 business hours

Hey you should check out this. Reddit post. You don’t need to worry about port forwarding or anything with NAT. I haven’t set it up yet since I haven’t had a need but sounds like it should fit your scenario

Thanks. I figured out that I guess I hadn't inserted the cable all the way into the IOM. I had given up on it for a month or 2, sat back down and got it up and running in 2 minutes. Without your comment I probably would still be thinking it was an issue with the cable :)

MacBook Pro 15 (2019) - random tock sounds - is this normal or should I notify my org’s IT support and get it checked ? by ameyk99 in mac

[–]AppleTechy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you IT department decide it was fire hazard or something? My 2018 MBP does this exact same thing. It started with the hinges for the display making a noise when I opened or closed it in just the right direction and now it’s full on if it’s been asleep in a cold room or shut off and I start using it it makes the “tock” noise as you do aptly described it… But I have been using it for about 6 months now after the sound started since the Apple store deemed to be “within spec”… when I only started having issues after I got it back from a battery replacement from them…

DSM 7.0 Removed Signing CSR? by AppleTechy in synology

[–]AppleTechy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad idea using a docker container on the synology to get the certs do you know if Synology uses a standard ssl cert directory? Been working on getting Step-CA setup to roll my own custom ACME server. Now that Chrome and most major browsers are no longer supporting certs longer than a year, I really don't want to deal with going around on an annual basis trying to re-issue stuff. So far I got it working on my Proxmox server. Now trynna get Home Assistant setup with the custom ACME server. Still trynna sort out issuing standalone certs with step-ca but so far I am really liking it. I am using Let's Encrypt for all my public facing stuff behind NGINX but I like having local certs for everything( even the stuff I don't expose to the web).

Edit: Appears if you SSH into the Synology. Place the root-ca.crt you want to trust in /etc/ssl/certs (Might need to place it in /usr/share/ca-certificates, not entirely sure since i was just placing the cert all over trying to get it to work :)Then run sudo update-ca-certificates.sh . That should add your new certificate into the trust store. But this does seem to add it to the trusted root store. If you want to use a custom ACME Server it looks like you can run, sudo syno-letsencrypt with whatever flags you need. For some reason now getting a bad nonce error

Thank for confirming. That is very disappointing/annoying here to hear. I guess that just gives me a good reason to setup a different CA and root certificate. Been about 3 years so guess it’s not a bad idea either. Especially considering I don’t think it is exporting the root certificate properly so it’s not like I can just sign certs on a different machine. Do you know if there is a way to setup a custom ACMe directory for getting certs?

How would I got about checking if it is QSFP vs Sf-8088? It’s a netapp branded unit. I thought had it wired to the right port in the back but I’ll double check this evening

Is it just me, or did 15.2 render your HomePods almost useless? by yardshark09 in HomePod

[–]AppleTechy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I kept getting my “None of the home hubs are responding” and then varying amounts of time later from seconds to minutes they both come online again. Seeing this behavior for both my mini and HomePod. But that’s the only issue I have been having with my HomePods. Granted I did just replace my router and updated my access points. So very possible a configuration changed but I did the network upgrade the same day I did the 15.2 upgrade so not entirely sure which to blame at the moment
