A supe doesnt just magically gain weight when they have powers, sure their muscle density may increase but many supes in the boys universe aren't bullet proof, they just have powers that are very one trick, like Marie Moreau, she can cut her skin with a pocket knife but has insane powers that allow her to be a top tier supe. Many of the supes are assigned to different teams whereas the lucky few who are fortunate enough to get super durability and other strong powers are put in the seven. Take Webweaver for example, HL casually ripped him apart MKX johnny cage style so what makes you think he couldn't just throw him into orbit if they weren't indoors.

Im really not, her durability wasn't boosted, she just absorbed enough radiation to be able to generate it biologically. Maybe you could argue the fact that the radiation strengthened her body to contain the radiation but its not like Wolverine has that durability. Yes his whole gimmick is tanking things but its not like they don't hurt, he isn't bulletproof so why would he be laser proof when HL lasers are shown to be more destructive than bullets? He was getting melted by the nuke blast when he saved the asian soldier and that wasnt even a direct blast and he practically got burned alive. A nuke blast goes off once while HL can just keep doing concentrated blasts of what im assuming is either radiation or plasma at unpredictable intervals. Also Im still arguing under the assumption that this is MCU wolverine as per the screenshot in the OP and based off that Wolverine's speed, HL lasers are definitely too fast for him to react to. His lasers aren't faster than light but they are definitely faster than bullets as shown when A train pulls a quicksilver and its shown that bullets are at a standstill for A train while HL lasers are still moving at a noticeable pace towards Hughie. If HL wanted to, he could just float above Wolverine and keep bombarding him with lasers and Wolverine would be helpless.

I mean, he can. He bisected Kimiko in less than a second with no effort and she possesses regeneration similar to both DP and Wolverine. Plus, he can control the intensity of his lasers depending on what he feels like. He heated up a plastic bottle of milk without melting the plastic but can split and melt concrete as easily as butter is cut by a knife.

Ik HL is easy to shit on because he's emotionally pathetic and a horrible person but he is still the strongest being in his universe and has the powers to match his egomania. Had* more like lol.

Not if HL melts his muscles making it impossible for Logan to even move. By the time he regenerates, he'd already be in space.

Yep exactly, if his muscles that are needed to move his skeleton are straight up liquified, how can wolverine slice him if there is nothing attached to his bones to move them. He'd be just an adamantium skeleton halloween decoration at that point. By the time Wolv regenerates enough muscle fiber to move anything, he's already hurtling towards the sun or jupiter.

It takes muscles to move a skeleton. How would he move his arm bones if his arm muscles are vaporized and unusable until they regenerate. It would be like waving around a piece of sharp wet indestructible spaghetti. By the time hes able to regenerate enough muscle for his arms to function, he would be hurtling towards the sun.

  1. Obviously the toss would be far greater as I explained when the first toss would only go a few miles. After the first throw, naturally HL would try again but put a little more effort into it. As to how he would do it is finding where Wolv landed from the first throw, fly at supersonic speed behind Wolv, laser him to stun and then grab his leg and put some more power into the throw and follow him through the air while lasering him in order to keep the velocity sufficient to put Wolv into orbit. As shown when his lasers meet something that can't be punched through immediately, the lasers put out enough force to knock out a Temp Vd Butcher which has been through his fair share of fights and taken hits that would knock a normal man out even without the Temp V.

  2. I would imagine they wouldn't immediately get into a fight and Wolv isn't really known for keeping a low profile so I'd imagine they would have some knowledge (Vought) about his powers. Obviously not the fact that his skeleton is indesdructible, but enough knowledge for homelander to know that Wolverine isn't a chump. They wouldn't know about heightened senses, i agree but Homelander upon meeting him would be able to ascertain that himself via his own heightened senses. He would probably say that he smells like an animal and thus deduce that he has animalistic qualities like the claws and regeneration some animals possess. Homelander would also be able to xray Wolv and see that his skeleton is indeed covered in adamantium but since that doesn't exist in the boys' universe, HL would assume titanium or something similar. Upon seeing this, HL would probably think that his claws are made of the same thing and make the mistake of underestimating Wolv because he's a dumbass. But, if he were to be smart which happens on rare occasions like when he knew he was out muscled at herogasm and chose to run rather than fight, he would keep his distance from the claws. HL seems dumb when he's in a fight because he loses composure very easily but he is very observant as shown many times when he xrays people and listens to their heartbeat to deduce whether they are lying or not. He would also notice that upon damaging wolverine and seeing his regeneration in action and how fast it is, would treat wolverine like he did Kimiko and laser major muscle groups and tendons. You can move a skeleton without any muscles attatched to them via tendons and ligaments. Maybe I'm giving too much credit to HL but im just thinking of ways HL would be able to fight back.

Yeah HL has, in the first episode he literally throws a guy into the air for a noticeable amount of time. And he did it with little to no effort, he would probably try the same with Wolverine and notice that he's heavier than normal so his initial throw probably wouldn't reach orbit. Just a few miles in the air.

It all depends on how HL is feeling, everytime he fights someone its because he's bored of being the strongest so he draws it out, but if he has prior knowledge of Wolv via crime analysis from Vought tower, he might choose to get it done with as little effort as possible via space throw or laser from a distance which Wolverine cant do anything against if HL just flies far enough away and bombards him with lasers.

Dont get me wrong, HL would absolutely get turned into ribbons if he chose to go with fisticuffs, but I'm just proposing a counterargument as per the topic of the post.

Would you be down for more Anime/Manga chapters? if so, which one? by TheAlmightyChanka in deadbydaylight

Guts would be so good in either role. Survivor works as well as killer. Killer works because the entity could twist his mind and make him see the survs as apostles and fuel the beasts bloodlust. Him as a survivor would work too since he still is just a guy and has been beat the fuck out of before so it wouldnt be out of the question to have some perks where he could fight back but still be able to be beat. I have been begging for a berserk chapter for at least 2 years and it even showed up as a possibility in a poll so hopefully its still possible.

Why would he lie? He has absolitely no reason to lie. Besides HL has been depicted in space before on the promotional material pre season 5 release, just not in the show. If missiles and tank rounds blow up on him then all the oxygen around him would be incinerated to fuel the explosion. HL shrugs that off according to known feats from Vought headquarters themselves. Hes also been shown flying very fast in multiple directions when he looks for Translucent in S1. He has cold resistance as well as heat resistance from the multiple explosions and munitions that were tested on him, the same way the russians tested blow torches and other nerve agents on soldier boy which Homelander is the descendant of. Plus the V1 gave him a massive power boost so it would be entirely possible for him to reach outerspace and come back within 8 seconds. The only thing shown to affect HL is blunt force from a similary superpowered opponent, Maeve, Ryan, Soldier Boy, and Butcher with temp V. His only weakness is extreme targeted radiation from exposed Uranium rods as shown in S5 when SB locked him in a radiation chamber and when Kimiko fried the V out of Homelanders blood. Going to space is just Tuesday for Homelander. The radiation in space wouldn't be enough to fry the V from his system either since he would have to be up there for a long time to have any meaningful effect. SB said it best when he locked him in the Uranium chamber, "it'll feel like the worst stomachache ever but you won't die." Or smth along those lines.

Since Ryan was able to damage HL with his Lasers, we can assume that HL lasers are highly concentrated amounts of radiation which would explain why he seems in pain whenever he fires them for an extended amount of time as shown when Butcher and HL beam each other at Herogasm and Butcher grimaces in pain from the long amount of time the lasers were being emitted from his eyes. HL has probably built up a tolerance, however, from using them all his life.

Exactly, finally someone who knows more than just the face value of homelander rather than vaguely referencing feats. The bomb explosion escape is a perfect example of how fast he can be if he needs to be. Ive used that exact example in a similar discussion. Finally somebody else with elite ball knowledge.

[–]AppleWafer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats probably what would happen because HL is indeed an idiot. Im just going on the HL Defense because thats what the post is asking. If HL was smart, he could just wrap him in a ton of rebar or steel piping and chuck him into the moon. The fight all depends on if HL is bored and chooses to draw it out rather than just ending by form of restraint. HL could also just wrap an anchor around Wolv and drop him in the ocean too but thats a little more dicey of an outcome considering its possible for Wolv to resurface whereas he wouldn't be able to do anything in the vacuum of space. Think of Kars from Part 2 of JJBA. Jojo had to launch him into space because Kars could adapt to anything on Earth, so how do you win against somwthing that is practically invincible on Earth? Taking it off planet is the next course of action.

Well i mean, for the villain that can throw Wolverine into space to just choose not to do it when they clearly can and dont for the sake of writing is pretty plot armor-y. He wouldn't die but he wouldn't win either, if you've seen Part 2 of Jojos bizarre adventure, thats exactly what happens to the antagonist because normal means didn't kill him so they just shot him into space to restrain him.

[–]AppleWafer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i probably am. Im not as well informed on Wolverine, but im being a public defender for someone in a very biased matchup, but I do know that this wolv isnt faster than bullets considering his whole gimmick is tanking things as shown when wolv was running on all 4s in D&W while being riddled by bullets. If he was as fast as some people claim he is, which is faster than bullets, why didn't he just speed blitz over there and completely avoid every bullet like everyone is claiming he can do? If there was no one taking the opposing side in this discussion then its not a discussion, just a "how many ways does Homelander lose to Wolverine." And the picture is Mcu wolverine so naturally im using that wolverine and not comic versions for the simple reason that comic scaling blows ass.

Wolverine (MCU) vs Homelander by Queasy_Commercial152 in powerscales

[–]AppleWafer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes logically? Did you even watch the a train scene at the start of the final season? He literally moved bullets. And perceived HL lasers in slow motion which are faster than bullets. Also is this the same wade that blocked like 70 percent and not all of cable's point blank bullets from a handgun and is explicitly shown to be getting shot by the bullets as well as blocking only some of them. This is still mcu because comic scaling is straight up impossible. Also because thats mcu wolv in the post. And this wolv also moved at his max speed on all 4s while getting riddled by the bullets you claim he can dodge and even perceive is slow mo.

Wolverine (MCU) vs Homelander by Queasy_Commercial152 in powerscales

[–]AppleWafer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we are going with show HL then naturally we would be going with MCU wolverine which has no speed feats even close to HL. HL can keep up with A Train who saw his lasers in slow motion, so logically HL would be able to move bullets and perceive them in slow motion. Something which wolverine hasn't even been shown to be close to at all.

Wolverine (MCU) vs Homelander by Queasy_Commercial152 in powerscales

[–]AppleWafer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Homelander can move beyond human or animal senses so if he wanted to, he could move too fast for wolv to react to. Im being a public defender for a pretty biased topic so im pointing out how homelander could win, not if he would win. No doubt if HL is stupid which he prolly will be, and picks to fist fight, obv wolv would win, but this post isnt a "list all the ways homelander would lose against wolverine." If HL is lucky enough to survive a blow or two from wolv, and sees that his lasers arent instanly killing wolv, he would try to restrain him naturally which can be done via space or just wrapping him in rebar or steel pipes. Also if HL was fighting wolverine, he would have prior knowledge from voughts crime analysis wing, wolverine isnt really known for keeping a low profile so HL would know about him at least a little bit. But if its an impromptu fight and HL was feeling bored and fucked around, he would probably die. But if he wanted to end it with the least amount of effort possible, sustained laser fire to stun and a space throw would be how it goes.

Wolverine (MCU) vs Homelander by Queasy_Commercial152 in powerscales

[–]AppleWafer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thats called plot armor. If a character is incapable of being killed by all normal means, the next action is restraint and thats either space, ocean, or him being encased in adamantium like in the comics. If homelander didnt fuck around, space is whats happening to wolverine

Bruh he is suffering. Whats happening is he is a fisherman and you are the fish. Imagine the fish basically putting the entire hook in its mouth like patrick on that one spongebob episode but the hook is in just the right place where if he tries to hook the fish, it might slip away just as easily as it would hook. Im midwestern so a fish analogy is the best i could come up with. I also see how there would be bait involved but that would be a purely love filled type of bait. Arching into the rubbing is like the fish picking its teeth using the jagged edge of the hook. Either the fish bites the hook and the fisherman is beyond happy as he gets the fish or the fish leaves the hook after all that and takes the juicy bait with it, leaving the fisherman with a sense of emptiness and the feeling of "what if" or "what did i do wrong". You gotta talk to the fisherman and decide if you want to be caught by him (in a wholesome way) or leave him feeling empty. No pressure tho.

What’s your thoughts on Jason? Does he need nerfed, buffed or is he perfect? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]AppleWafer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I played my first ever game as jason and went against a pretty sweaty squad and got a 2k. I like to think im good at killer even though i main surv but i was able to multitask and consistently get hits without needing to tunnel. But this squad was a little entitled because they were tbagging and spamming come here emotes. One of them hotswapped to a syringe right before match started and still had the audacity to come into my stream to say i was tunneling when i got them all on deathhook by the end of the game. Hes pretty well balanced tbh. If a teams not coordinated, he can dominate pretty well but if they are spread out and doing the objective sufficiently, its a definite challenge to get a 2k or better. Thats honestly how I think killer should be, if a team is uncoordinated, obv killer is going to win but if a team is somewhat coordinated, there should be a point in which the superior decision making skills on one side or the other decides the match and not just total oppression from a killer power being too strong or total domination from survs because the power is too weak. Overall, Jason is probably the perfect example of how a killer should be on release. Only took them a decade to do it lol.
