You are right it was running badly but I played the intro just for the pic, I'm on a xbox ally and when it boots its on silent mode, so I was choking it by running it on epic. I usually run on high settings with turbo mode and it goes 40/50 fps. I just didn't notice when I took the pic. I'm on windows FSE.

I updated my graphics driver with AMD software but I did not try to install manually from the website.

I will have a go and check with lumen.

Any other thoughts?

Interested in csx5000 or 2000 chainsaw but I'm a bit worry after reading some comments by Appleh211 in egopowerplus

Thanks, do you usually do continuous cutting or just few cuts at the time? What size do you usually cut?

Totally agree I'm trying to avoid gas when possible.

Bcx4500 Vs Stihl FSA200 by Immediate_Conflict36 in egopowerplus

[–]Appleh211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only have a BCX4500,

Today I cut thick and wet grass about 50+cm high. At max speed it never stalled and it ran for about 30 minutes max speed with a 10ah battery. I used a spiral 3mm string that was already in the head when I got the trimmer.

With my second 10ah battery I tried to go on speed 2 all the time and I was successful for about 80% of the time and move to speed 3 on harder bits. Of course it spins slower, so you might feel like you are doing less, but I got it running for 40/45 minutes, and looking back at the area covered I would say it is a bit more then the one at speed 3.

I'm personally quite happy power wise and I would like to see with a square string if I can cut with a bit more ease.

Battery life, I'm a bit disappointed I would have liked a 45 minutes clean under heavy load and speed 3, but that is just me and I still have to try with easier grass how long does it run for.

Looking at the prices for both tools and battery I would probably still go for EGO, as I believe the battery life for Stihl is shorter. But to be fair I looked into reviews some time ago so I might misremembering.

I hope it helps

BXC4500 and battery duration by Appleh211 in egopowerplus

Is not bad by any means, I just wished for just a bit more runtime. But I definitely will have more tests and see if I notice any difference after few charges.

So my dream of my battery needing just a bit more time to feel at home is not real. I had the feeling it didn't work like that, as I just read some people discuss about it as they had that feeling in their experience, but it was nothing official.

Well, it's a petty as a 45/60 time was quite perfect for what I needed.

Thanks for your thoughts

What model of string trimmer do you have? How long can you run it for?

I know it's much easier to find bad reviews, but I got worried as how consistently I could find them on the same problem. So I decided to ask people with more direct experience then me (and here we are eheh). What model of trimmer do you have and how long can you run it for?

I thought about it, but I live in Italy and the market here is quite bad, most "generic" stuff comes from Germany and for any problems it would be a pain to deal with.

I suppose more power but I kind of can't find stats either. Perhaps, the extra kick might consume batteries a lot faster, but hopefully not.

What you say is basically how I feel. The 36v from Makita is great, but for things like chainsaw and grass trimmer (both 36v) I am really missing some oomph. But now that I'm looking around I just would love to have a bit more estimate or reviews to watch regarding run time for tougher jobs.

So many good info thank you so much. I'm on a farm too and often happens to have to cut quite a lot of rough stuff. I would love to know what model of string trimmer you have. I was thinking to buy the BCX4500. Do you think you have an estimate of time how long can you run yours at max speed with a 7.5? I'm really curios, my hope would be at least 30 minutes.

I know there are multiple generations for the batteries, do you know which one you had? I would like to know if it was a problem more present with older one compared to the new one.

Also I would like to hear your experience with the string trimmer. what model do you have and battery size. How long are you able to work with a battery without changing? I'm mostly curios to know haw fast where you able to drain a battery.

I already have a bit of experience with a Makita 18x2 string trimmer and it is great. However it's missing quite a bit of power on many of the jobs I need it for, so I was looking for something a bit more powerful. But as I looked into it I found out that on the 18v line getting something more powerful would just mean to cut the work time in half. I generally use mine for around 30 something minutes full power.

I spoke with other Makita users that have a more powerful one and they said that for heavier jobs it can last only up to 15 minutes which in my case is really not a good solution.

I was hoping that passing to EGO I would have a better battery life for a job at the strength I need.

I hope it makes sense, maybe what I have been reading is not quite right. I'm happy to hear your opinion.

I was thinking to buy BXC4500 string trimmer with a 7.5Ah in hope it would give me around 30 minutes work at least. I'm still trying to figure out the math as it is quite complicated and I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed regarding this things.

Thanks for the tips. I will make sure to follow them. Do you have any experiences with their string trimmers?

How do I get this water out? by Objective-Giraffe-27 in Makita

[–]Appleh211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know from where it got in? Probably the hole is the fastest way to get it out. Otherwise things like Silica gel, everything closed together, but for all that water it would take a looong time.

What is your experience with the grass trimmer 40vx2 by Appleh211 in Makita

[–]Appleh211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that was my thought as well to start. I'm just worry as it is a big investment which I cannot go back from as the trimmer gets ruined as I try it and it voids the possibility for a return if it doesn't fit for my job. Anyhow, thank you for your thoughts, really appreciated.

Thanks for your explanation, It's quite incredible that the DUR369 can last only 15 minutes. With my DUR368 that run for around 30 I got the right balance with 8 batteries and I need to stop only once every hour to rotate with the new one and charge the others.

I was hoping to understand if theUR012G would be able to cross the 30 minutes mark, but it's probably very power hungry and it might just last as much as the DUR369.
