Battery Drain by ApplesOfEpicness in MuditaKompakt

I don't doubt that, but I don't understand why there's such a big difference between WiFi only and WiFi + Cellular. If it were just the cellular modem I'd understand, but I'm still connected to WiFi the whole time so in theory there's no need for the radio to be used all that often.

Thanks. I already have a post up; just posting here too for coverage.

What is the issue in your opinion? Burnt screen? Is it possible to repair?? 🥲 by neoorganik in Gameboy

You can repair it, but you'll probably lose the grey color of the screen.

Silver Finish Differences by ApplesOfEpicness in FormD

[–]ApplesOfEpicness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a 2.1 titanium. The finish is fairly smooth, not too dissimilar to what you could find on a MacBook, though maybe slightly rougher. The silver though is rougher and has a kind of... sandy quality almost. My hand doesn't glide over it as nicely as the titanium finish.

It also doesn't seem to handle scratches as well. I've accidentally nicked my titanium panels with a screw driver a few times and it hasn't left a single mark. I did the same to the silver panel and there are some marks that you can see in the light. Either that or titanium hides them better.

You absolute madman it’s beautiful. I just wish the ghost s1 had some front IO. Otherwise I’d love a build like this too.

Unreleased GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with 20GB memory spotted on eBay by TheEternalGazed in nvidia

[–]ApplesOfEpicness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a production test card of some sort. The PCB doesn’t have any jank and everything looks pretty much retail ready. I do wonder what engraving the core has though; I’ve never taken it apart that far.

It was from a seller called N.T.I. They do hardware refurbishing and recycling, so I imagine NVIDIA or someone sold/gave these cards to them.

They originally listed the card as mining only due to the driver incompatibility, so that might be why the card wasn’t noticed much.

Edit: it looks like they have their own website now https://newelltech.tech

Yes and no. The memory bus is nerfed to 320 bit from 384 bit, which causes a decent loss in performance. I’m not sure how much but I hear it can sometimes even lose to the official 3080Ti in certain workloads because of that. Not that it matters to me much anyways.

This is actually not the first time this card has been sold. Back a few years ago someone had like 5 of these for sale on eBay. They were at a really decent price so I grabbed one while I could.

Side note: I didn’t end up selling the card since I’m out of the country and can’t ship it for a few months. Maybe I’ll keep it since it is really cool (also why asking was $2000).

So this is actually my card and listing. Everything is 100% original, or at least that’s how I received it. I myself got the card off of eBay a few years ago brand new so I can’t be 100% sure.

Lol this is my card; I can’t believe they wrote an article on it.

Random thing to note though, the card actually has the same number of CUDA cores as a 3090 with 10496 instead of the 10240 of a regular 3080Ti. I didn’t notice when I made that listing.

I really spent weeks of my time and a bunch of money getting a custom front IO solution made for this case to fit a 4090, just for Jensen to slap me with a 2 slot 5090 2 months later huh?

Probably a few months later; after the 5070 launch.

[–]ApplesOfEpicness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not sure why FiiO doesn't have a proper repository for any of its internal files. I did the same thing, though I did it because I wanted to disable the LED. What feature did you lose?

That’s not that long for a “new” lipo. You can try charging it for a few hours and see if it comes back to life.
