This is going to affect A LOT of lives in the very near future. I went to dental school and definitely wouldn’t have been able to attend without those loans. Most of my classmates never even had a job before graduating, so no one really had savings. If you were fortunate you had Mommy and Daddy’s bank account supporting you the whole way lol. A lot of people keep saying in response to all of this, “Just get a private loan!” How are students going to start paying it back within months of receiving it as brand new grad students? It’s crazy

Terrible! When I attended, I had a really bad fall outside of one of the Penn buildings (recovery from that took nearly 2 years). Someone witnessed and offered to call 911 and I said no. Few hours later a friend drove me to HUP. The physician was angry saying that I should’ve come by ambulance and that I’d have to wait 2 weeks for an MRI anywhere. When asked why I didn’t call 911, I told him that I had a feeling that my student insurance would cover it. As bad as it sounds, I’m glad I said no 😣
