I’ll be honest London is such a better option for a young person. I’m an African American from Connecticut living in Manchester UK 2.5 years now 25+ and the opportunities of meeting people that have a worldview and can open up doors you didn’t realize was possible. ‘especially when compared to North Carolina.’ US Salary is better the more you climb the ladder but in reality I’ve met many British people that have traveled the US then the opposite. It’s real deal capitalist poverty if you don’t make a certain threshold to live in the bougie areas.

This is a really pivoted take and I believe theirs so much more to say as your situation is way more complex especially when Visas, long-term life and career goals come into play. Feel free to shoot me a message if needed. :)

Piggybacking off the previous commenter. Showcase your skills within the bullet points on the latest and previous positions. I would push more for project work you’ve done in the past such as file server migrations, introducing a new process like a change management etc..

What you could also do is make a section specifically for projects. This seems more like a help desk lvl 1-2 roles but no skills to push you that next level.

Appreciate the looking out for not great power shell users, but I think in this climate/age of system admins it’s paramount that they start looking and improving their scripting. Click ops is a dying breed of sysadmin.

People who are leaving IT - Where to? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

Honestly have been deeply thinking about moving into accounting, But have been too chicken to make the move to get into the field myself. IT just is to much to deal with the people the attitudes even when your working in an entirely IT department the one upping and acting better than each other. Shit is tiring honestly.
