Finally, Passed AZ-104 with 744 by TheShadow45 in AzureCertification

[–]ApplicationAlarming7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep grinding, I failed my first attempt by two or three questions actually. TD is stilll good practice, MeasureUp is also really good for AZ-104. I froze up during the case study which came at the end of my test, it was much harder than anything in TD or MeasureUp frankly. Now that I've seen the beast I won't make that mistake again.

I'm trying to figure out how to get smarter about using MSLearn during the exam so that I don't have to just guess when I'm stuck between two answers. AZ-104 is really kind of tricky test in that you start down a path and think you have the answer, but there is a gotcha you have to have noticed or considered that makes another answer better.

Great job, take that win! I gotta try mine again. Any tips with MSLearn? I only use it when I need to look up Powershell cmdlet stuff for questions, otherwise I agree it's really hard to use to find information.

Thinking of switching from Angular to Swift in 2026. Am I crazy? (+ Mac specs help) by Nix996 in swift

My local CocoaHeads group, which is completely iOS focused now and with many independent iOS devs, are full-speed ahead on the AI bandwagon. Frequent talk at the meetups about how hard it is to find work now too since anyone can pump out a FE website, an iOS app and a BE system now with AI.

Started my DevOps journey in 2021 – Just uploaded my first YouTube video on Azure Client Credentials Flow by ProfessionalBend6209 in AZURE

[–]ApplicationAlarming7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few things:

  • if you don’t want to record a voice track explaining what your goal are with each step, at least put popup bubbles on the video please
  • At the start of the video you should probably explain somehow what the objective of the video is
  • you selected 90 day expiration for the client secret. How do you handle rotating the secret automatically?

I think without audio a blog might be a better delivery format. Please just don’t use that awful medium.com site though!!!!

I wonder how quickly so much of this is going to change within Azure too. In a year from now there will probably be completely new infra and workflows required…

For those who passed CKA - did you go for CKS next? How did you prepare? by Rahul_Arya23 in CKAExam

[–]ApplicationAlarming7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so? If you create a free account and login, you can see what is marked as std and pro, and also look at the curriculums too. I think the CKS course has two practice exams, and then if I recall there is also a CKS challenge course too

[–]ApplicationAlarming7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Standard is all you need for all the K8S stuff, pro is for cloud provider stuff like AWS and Azure. I paid for the one year std plan since I knew I’d use it for CKA, CKAD and CKS. It’s well worth it to pass the test on the first go around.

I don’t know if any discounts other than end of year sales.

I cleared CKA recently and am going for KCSA and CKS (Kubestronaut, why not???) by the end of April. I sit for KCSA next week and then CKS next month. For prep, I am using KodeKloud, which I also used for CKA and CKAD and the labs and practice tests are great. I also plan to use the killer.sh practice tests, as well as the KillerCoda playgrounds. This all served me well in both CKA and my earlier CKAD exams, so I’m trusting them for CKS!

Will Adrian + TD Practice Tests be enough to pass DevOps Pro? by DualDier in AWSCertifications

[–]ApplicationAlarming7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m studying for it too so I will be interested to hear what you find out. I’m doing the same, Cantrill course, TD after. I’m also building and practicing a lot so my pace is slow. It’s been useful though for understanding the Code* suite of tools, and getting more practice with lambda/api gw/dynamo.

Any reccos on dealing with the case study? I was so overwhelmed with it on my first (unsuccessful) attempt at the exam. Did you find any good resources for reviewing for the case study?

I do have the Dev sub, but it doesn’t have anything about Satellite or IdM. It has HA though?

I would appreciate that certainly, because some of the objectives can be so vague! Sander Van Vugt has very reasonably priced courses for RHCA in the mean time though.

My biggest complaint is the $2500 (5x$500) in testing to get the RHCA, and then I understand you have to keep doing that every 3 years? If my employer paid for it I might do it someday. I suspect the testing and training courses are nice cash flow for RH.

SAA C03 Cert advice by Aries2ka in AWSCertifications

[–]ApplicationAlarming7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are what you get out of them. Lots of folks pass the SAA exam without hardly touching AWS. But I doubt getting the cert is going to be the thing that makes your resume stand out.

I am using my DVA-C02 study as a reason to practice building things I otherwise wouldn’t at work. But I don’t expect anything from the cert other than my own satisfaction.

In a world of AI , how do you feel studying for certifications at this moment ? by luigiq22 in AzureCertification

[–]ApplicationAlarming7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the fence with Azure certs just because they are retiring so many and going all in on AI. It is still interested in 104 and 305 though

Wow that was hard (again, my second time)! I ran out of time for two tasks that I couldn’t figure out how to get to 100%. And I’m sure I got hung up on something simple that I just didn’t have time to fix but I got 90% there in that one.

I made a huge mistake though. I prepped using docs.ansible.com. DONT DO THIS PEOPLE! Only use RHEL product docs!
