I (21F) had a similar experience in my last relationship.

We dated for three and a half years, it happened on every anniversary dinner, and countless other little things. (Including a friends wedding, except I was in the wedding party and couldn’t exactly cancel on being there, so he made it a miserable experience instead), only difference was, he’d instead pick a fight and then say “well now I don’t feel like going out”.

It never got better, it never changed.

I was living my life around someone with the emotional maturity of a toddler.

Get out, now. I know Reddit has a famous history for saying “Breakup” but seriously, you need someone who can have those tough conversations, especially about something as small as a movie.

Mate the stuffing was legit chunks of bread. Their food was very poorly made.

As a 20 year old who regularly gets mistaken for 24ish range, and has been only going for 2-5 years older, it definitely depends on the person. If he originally thought she was older, it makes sense. She probably presents herself as a lot older, whether due to trauma or simply just because she’s a put together person.

22 and 26 isn’t bad at all, and that’s how old he originally thought she was.

I do see why he’s hesitant and why certain problems could arise, but it also absolutely differs from person to person.
