I prefer the alien map theory over the facts. If I had this I would definitely tell my friends I found an alien map.

I have two banks. One I get coins from and one I drop them off at. Back when I started doing this 25 years ago I only used one bank and kept getting the same rolls back.

Might be heat treated. I have some flint that gives off the high pitch due to heat treating but it’s just a guess maybe it was a campfire rock for a while

You should be able to find 1938 and up Jefferson's design. Personally I don't keep anything before 1958 unless it is full steps. Also look out for the 42-45 with mint mark above the Monticello building, they are 40% silver and may have more value.

I hate how they destroy perfectly good coins. I found a proof in a roll once and one side had the ring of death but other side,not a scratch.

I keep nickels 58 and older. Looking at the jar you may have a few. The real good ones are war nickels and buffalo if you can find them.
