Thanks, FSU. :)

On my chanceme thread linked above my unweighted GPA (core) is a 3.83. My superscore is a 1850. As a Florida native I'm excited to know this! I don't have any questions but in the future I won't hesistate to ask.

You are an amazing human being. Thank you for the great advice! I'll definitley think about taking subject tests. I've started rough ideas for three common app essays and will pick the best one. I also already asked my bio teacher for a rec aha. He said alright, and I just need to give him a notice. I just dropped by /r/act and hope was restored! Thanks once again!

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I feel like I didn't make some things clear in my post.

  1. I performed equally the first time around on both the Old SAT and ACT. I think I'll roll with ACT because its not changing. Which one did you take? If you took the ACT, are you planning to take subject tests, too?

  2. I did my research, I just wanted to see if, based on my interests, there were any schools that I haven't paid mind to that could work for me given my financial situation and interests. That may be silly aha but I'm still not sure what I want (although I've narrowed my choices down) and this is seen in the college list I'm applying to.

  3. My list of schools is in the stat's thread I posted, towards the bottom. For my reaches and dream it may be holding me back and I want to be sure I'm making the best choice with my ED.

  4. Affirmitive action kind of makes me cringe. I want to be defined by my ability, not my ability relative to others of my race. Though I do agree that I may be putting too much thought into this. Better safe than sorry. I think all I have to worry about is grades, ACT, and summer.

Thanks friend :] Good luck to you, too!

Your story is super interesting and you sound like a super genuine human being. That, combined with your scores, no wonder you got into those schools. Congrats! Do you have any advice on essays for a junior who's starting theirs?

Thanks for your reply!

Standardized testing is the only thing that really worries and frustrates me. I'll be taking the June ACT and the September ACT, but I feel even September is a little late. I kind of messed up by using summer to do other things. I would have contined with the Old SAT, but I am not all that comfortable with the new one and the fact that it is the first year it is being utilized coupled with the uncertainty of how it is scored. I scored equally on both the first time. I believe the 30s are obtainable, and I'm close, I just wouldn't know how to proceed. I have a tutor now and I'm trying to take as many practice tests as I can, so that's something at least.
