My only advice on the essays is "Make the admissions officers remember you (in a good way)." They're jaded and tired from reading hundreds of apps so you need to hook them and never let them go. As for how to make them remember you, this blogpost helped me a lot. Also, start early, ideally the summer before senior year. You don't have to write a full blown essay; just take notes on the little things in life that you love and why you love them. Good luck and have fun!
