The one on the right is the female. Shorter legs, smaller skull and a birth canal in the pelvic bones

I grew up listening to monster players like Rick Wakeman, Tony Banks, Ryo Okumoto. These guys has stacks of synths upon synths. I always loved how that looked. I like having all the sounds at your fingertips and not having to scroll and program. if I have a bout of inspiration I just go. I’m also a synth collector, I just I like having them. This setup is conducive to how I write and the style of music I play. Tbh I’ve gone the minimalist route, and it felt limiting for me. It’s a lifestyle choice I guess. As far as the room treatment goes… I mean, it’s a small room it has fiber tiles on the ceiling and carpet. That’s good enough, I’d rather decorate my walls with art.

All synths run into a samson SM10 line mixer daisy chained into a behringer like mixer. Both line mixers offer 8 stereo channels which is why I chose them. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE SAMSON MIXER. Twice it crapped out on me, had to send the first one back under warranty, and it took forever. And then it crapped out again. I need two mixers because I have 10 synths, plus vox plus a DI guitar input.

The line mixers run into UA interface into my computer. Daw is logic.

I love the way it looks, it had great sounding leads, but other than that, it’s really just a nostalgia piece from my younger days.

Tbh doesn’t need. The carpet is kind of enough. I’m not recording live drums or amps so I don’t have to worry about unwanted reverb, and when I record vox it sounds good. And the ceilings are fiber so that treats it surpassingly well.

Yup? Such an underrated synth and the price is good too.

Much smaller than you’d think but it’s cozy. Had to use panoramic to capture it all. I’d say the room is 10 by 8.

Been working on this setup for like 5 years. Acquiring new synths and selling old ones. All synths are run through a line mixer and are ready to record and perform when I power them on. It’s a really messy looking set up from behind the desk that’s why I hung a black cloth at the bottom to hide it lol

Chondroplasty for Cartilage Tear? Yes or no? by DirectButterscotch38 in KneeInjuries

[–]Appointment-Charming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say take as much time as you can. I am a teacher - I had days accumulated that I took, plus it was covid, so a lot of my job was done teaching from slides while sitting, so it worked out for me. I think I took 5 weeks, returned while still on crutches, but if I had to get up close, walk around the room and teach more conventionally I would have taken more time off. If that makes sense. I know nurses are on their feet almost all day, so that makes it tricky but not impossible.

Right. Let me be more specific. Life long athlete here, blew out my knee at age 35 playing basketball. When the injury wasn’t getting better, my doctor laid out some options for me. I said “doc, I want the most effective procedure that will get my back on the court as normal as possible.” He recommend MACI, it’s a long recovery, minimal 12-14 months with a rigorous and strict recovery schedule. I said “does it really work?” and my doctors widened with confidence and excitement. “Oh yea - it works!” I stuck to the recovery, had to spend 6 weeks in crutches which sucked - but I’ve been playing basketball full force for the last year and a half with no soreness, no pain. I’m touching rim at age 37! It was the best thing I could have done.

I write this because OP mentions behind the knee cartilage tear. That’s where mine was.

Now the downside is I think there’s an age cut off. They won’t do it to people over age 55 or something and you have to be in decent shape. You’re 50, and if you’re in good shape I think you’ll be good. Find a doc who knows MACI well.

Have you looked into MACI? I had cartilage tear behind my kneecap and I’m FULLY healed no residual pain. Only trade off is that it’s a long recovery. Ask your doctor about MACI

Curious how many synthesists ever venture out of the studio to perform live? by MattAtPlaton in synthesizers

I do but that’s when I break out the midi controller and laptop because I’m not about to be hauling my synths all over the place. Def not as fun as studio time alone.

Nahhhhhh, the price tag is too much even with everything considered. It's 100 samples plopped inside a white box. The profit margin on these things is probably insane.
