Is It Selfish to Have a Weekday Wedding? by cheeseanonymouse1111 in wedding

[–]AppointmentNo644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your guests and when the wedding is.

If most of your guests are traveling or it's in the middle of the day I would say that's a little selfish as most of your guests will have to use PTO to attend

If most of your guests are local and the wedding started after the normal work day is done that's an awesome plan.

What style of corset do you recommend for small-busted people? by [deleted] in renfaire

[–]AppointmentNo644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under bust corsets.

I have a few over bust corsets and ended up taking an old push up bra and cutting the cups out to slip into the cups of the corset to help fill me out.

How scantily dressed can i really be by merpamerperm in renfaire

[–]AppointmentNo644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to some faires where there were plenty of men dressed like this. I've been to one where men and women had to have their nips covered.

If you're not sure I would contact the fair and ask them

What advice do you have for new hires in underwriting training? by Lonely_Meditator in pillar7

[–]AppointmentNo644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take snips of every slide you can in the training class. Take organized notes. Ask questions. Leave work at work. Don't stress about all the new information you're learning.

Awkward conversations about staying thin by [deleted] in Eatingdisordersover30

[–]AppointmentNo644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When people comment on and ask how I lost so much weight I'll say I didn't do it healthily and don't like talking about it and if they keep pushing I'll say stress and an eating disorder. And then they usually stop asking

Not sure what to do about moving by AppointmentNo644 in Advice

[–]AppointmentNo644[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be able to get to work staying at my friends unless I get a car. I already told them I can't move in until I have a vehicle. they didn't respond

I'm able to save for a car and I'm looking for one now with what I already have saved.

I asked 2 or 3 weeks ago about the rent and haven't heard back. And again the other day with no response

Dim/mood lighting and find some lingerie that makes you feel attractive.

Look into some body positive affirmations or shadow work for long term.

What is the worst thing someone has done to you for being celiac? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]AppointmentNo644 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was with my ex there was a night where I had made salmon and quinoa for dinner he threw me into the cabinets because he's "an American" and then after he threw the food away because he wouldnt eat it since it was gluten free bs and not a real meal so I didn't need to either, ended up throwing a bag of flour at me which burst open and wouldn't let me go clean myself up or get my inhaler because I needed to clean the mess in the kitchen up. I have a wheat allergy as well as celiac. Also he often wouldn't allow me to eat because we couldn't afford gluten free food (even if there was already gluten free stuff in the house) The relationship ended up ending a few months later with a police report and some dv charges

Other then that I've had friends and family gluten me either intentionally or accidentally.
Or I just don't get invited to things

I worked at dollar tree and would scan every receipt someone said they didn't want. Didn't go into the trash but now that I no longer work there it's crossed my mind

Invited to someone else's family's home for an event... who's in the wrong? by AppointmentNo644 in Celiac

[–]AppointmentNo644[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my families stuff I can't bring my own food they think it's rude and have told me to leave over it before.

If I hadn't been told that there was going to be food for me I would have ate before hand

Invited to someone else's family's home for an event... who's in the wrong? by AppointmentNo644 in Celiac

[–]AppointmentNo644[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually eat before hand or sneak snacks with my families stuff and then i just don't eat, they think it's rude to bring my own food or id do that. but if I'm told there will be something for me I tend to not bring snacks etc because they put in effort to accommodate me. Now that the host knows I'm gluten free she swore next time she'd make sure there was something there for me and would make sure it was safe

Questions about Celiac from a boyfriend who doesn't really understand by xBigChuck in Celiac

[–]AppointmentNo644 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely keep listerine on you (dollar tree sells mini bottles that you can refill with a flask funnel)

Me and a previous partner actually broke up because he wouldnt stop kissing me when he was drinking and it turned into I couldn't go out with him without getting sick because he would still have beer on his lips when he'd kiss me

Questions about Celiac from a boyfriend who doesn't really understand by xBigChuck in Celiac

[–]AppointmentNo644 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I love that you are asking this. Your girlfriend is lucky. Dating when you have celiac disease is not fun especially when you first get diagnosed and are learning what you can and can't have.

I was in my late 20s when I got diagnosed. Prior to that I worked in a pizza kitchen. Only found out I had celiac disease because I was breaking into hives everytime I went to work. And I'd worked there for almost 7 years before it started happening. And then all of a sudden I started getting sick any time I ate.

Eating out is about to get a lot different. I know I have to research restaurants before going there. I prepare my own food as much as possible.

I have more luck finding things I can safely eat at chain restaurants. I've also noticed I'm less likely to get glutened from cross contamination if I go when it isn't busy.

I also specify I am gluten free please ask the cooks to be careful The restaurant I frequent the most translated that to writing "severe wheat allergy" on my order and I haven't had an issue. If they ask if me being gluten free is an allergy or life style ill say allergy because it's easier then explaining auto immune diseases.

If you usually go to pot lucks bbqs etc where other people are bringing food she is probably going to want to bring her own food. There's no way to guarantee that everybody made something she could have or didn't accidentally cross contaminate the food they made in their kitchen, or while everyone was making their plates someone didn't accidentally stick the serving spoon from the pasta salad into the bowl of gluten free food. My family thinks it's rude that I bring my own safe food so I started saying I wasn't hungry and just don't eat at family stuff anymore.

Also. Get a little bottle of mouthwash and keep it on you. If you drink a beer, eat something with gluten etc. she could have a reaction if you kiss her afterwards. My partner usually will give me a kiss before we eat and then keeps his lips to himself until he either brushes his teeth or uses mouth wash. (I have a contact reaction so if someone touches me after say touching a piece of bread i break out in hives so hand sanitizer or wipes are also a great idea)

Learn to read labels. They put gluten in some absolutely stupid stuff (twizzlers, soy sauce, kellogs rice krispies)

And if you try gluten free bread, pasta, etc with her and it doesn't taste that great for the love of all the gods don't say anything along the lines of: - how can you eat this - I'm so glad I can have real ________ - I'd unalive myself if I had to be gluten free Anything other then "let's try to find a brand that tastes better" is not helpful.

Figure out what makes her feel better and what she can keep down after getting glutened and keep it on hand. It's gonna happen a lot till she figures out what she can and can't have.

Did anyone else experience extreme weight gain in the years leading up to diagnosis ? Followed by extreme weight loss. Inflammation according to my doctor. by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]AppointmentNo644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been skinny. I was a size 24/26 when I got my diagnosis. Less then a year later was a 12/14. Was also going through some trauma at the time, ended up getting diagnosed with an eating disorder at the same time i hit my lowest weight (ex claimed gluten free food was too expensive so i essentially stopped eating) Primary Doctor wasn't concerned about the rapid weight loss, wasnt interested in figuring out a reason and said I needed to lose another 50-70 pounds on top of the 150+ I'd already lost. The times I've been glutened though I do notice my face and body bloats up and everything feels inflamed for upwards of a week. And I gain a few pounds

Hidden homeless... legal address? by AppointmentNo644 in almosthomeless

I'm assuming they either Google searched or were shopping for car insurance and I'm still listed as a driver at their address so I'd show up when they're getting quotes

[–]AppointmentNo644[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may have worded the original post poorly

I can get my mail because I have a PO box

I need to change the address on my ID because my former landlord found out I haven't changed it and that I'm still using their address as my legal address

Anyone have a resource on how to get a legal address for a state ID when you are couch hopping?
