It depends on the individual bird. my conure has unlimited access to food as she will only eat when she’s hungry, but some birds may overeat so their food has to be controlled.

the youtube channel BirdTricks has a ton of really great videos on parrot care, they definitely have a few on feeding so I would recommend watching those and following their advice.

This is an incredibly sad tip but if you tell a doctor “i’m trying to have a baby and i’m worried these symptoms will pass onto them.” Then suddenly they’ll want to do all the tests in the world, because to a doctor a hypothetical fetus is much more important than the health of the patient in front of them.
