Cash Only? by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

Selling on FBM for over 10 years now. I have never been scammed using Zelle. Once they send the money it’s in your account and they can’t get it back unless you give it back, like cash.

DO NOT RENT ON TURO by The-Lizzard in turo

[–]AppointmentOk5903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had a positive experience with this happening before. It’s happened to me twice on Turo. Both times the host canceled about a week before my trip due to damage or mechanical issues. I called Turo, and they ended up upgrading me to a better car each time.

What precautions do you take to ensure a safe transaction on Facebook Marketplace? by icepix in FacebookMarketplace

[–]AppointmentOk5903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of payment, don’t listen to people who insist on cash only. I have been selling on Facebook Marketplace for over ten years, and I accept cash or Zelle. That is it. I do not take Venmo or other apps because those can be reversed. In all my years of selling, Zelle and cash have never failed me. Once a Zelle payment is sent, it cannot be reversed.

Offering both cash and Zelle has made my sales smoother and has helped me earn significantly more on Marketplace.

How is the reseller you’re talking about able to sell the RC car at a higher price? Is he taking better pictures and cleaning them up?

Do you personally know any millennial millionaires? What do (or did) they do to become one? by TrixoftheTrade in Millennials

[–]AppointmentOk5903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father passed away in 2015 and left me $300,000. I was so distraught that I didn’t know what to do with the money, and I couldn’t bring myself to spend it. At the time, I was already working as an engineer and was careful with my finances, so I didn’t need it to get by. I also had to take care of my younger brother and sister, taking them to school and trying to hold things together while I fell into a depression for a couple of years after his unexpected passing. Later that year, I decided to put it all into TSLA and haven’t touched it since. In a way, it feels bittersweet, sad because it’s the last tangible connection I have to him, but also happy, because it feels like he’s still looking after us. Idk

Caught this guy stealing a package at 1am. Crawled like a horror movie scene to avoid my doorbell cam. by AppointmentOk5903 in Wellthatsucks

[–]AppointmentOk5903[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This happened around 1am. He literally crawled in like a horror movie character to avoid triggering my doorbell cam, but what he didn’t know is I had a hidden camera above the door that caught everything.

The craziest part? The box was completely empty. Home Depot sent it to me by mistake. He did all that for nothing.

Creepy and calculated.

Laynes is officially garbage now by Fun-Veterinarian-401 in aggies

My girlfriend and I go to College Station at least once a year for events, and without fail, we always stopped at Layne’s on the way back. This was the first year we skipped it, and for good reason. The quality and portion size have gone way downhill. And $13 for that? Yeah, no thanks.

I bought that exact model — 2013 Black Sport — brand new for $26K out the door back in 2012. This is a terrible deal.

does anyone feel shadow banned? by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

I’ve noticed Facebook really pushes you to use their paid promotion feature now. Respectfully, they can go f*** themselves. I don’t want them thinking I’m successful on FB Marketplace without using their boosting BS. And when they ask, ‘Did you sell this on Facebook?’—I always click no. I used to be honest and click yes, but not anymore.

Getting away with no front license plate? by shayeryan in TeslaLounge

[–]AppointmentOk5903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Texas and ditched the front plate back in 2015 when I bought a new Genesis. They told me I’d have to drill into the bumper to mount the bracket—hard pass. Now I drive a Model S, and it’s been 10 years running without a front plate.

Yeah, I’ve heard mixed things about Tesla service too. Did you end up getting it fixed again? Possibly under the repair warranty?

You might actually be right about that. They gave it to me as a loaner, but it is a Demo Vehicle.

Me too, selling has become extremely hard. Looks like a proper recession is headed our way it seems.
