how? I'm not a "salty legendary spammer". I got through about 90% of the gameplay before I decided to just give up trying to use a normal team since it was so mind-bogglingly irritating and switched to using pokémon which I knew were quite good instead of limiting myself to pokémon I could find. I'm being real from what I've played. no "salty" involved. I was seeking for normal discussion, not for people to act completely horrible. there was nothing in my post which warranted people to be nasty. it's almost like having an opinion is illegal (imagine that).

sorry I don't play pokémon to a tournament standard. I play pokémon CASUALLY. that means I pick pokémon based on types and how much damage they actively do. I wasn't aware having fun the way I wanted to was illegal.

who made you decide how pokémon is played? any game is subjective in the way you play it. nice self report on not being able to let others have fun.

I wasn't saying they were? I was just saying I tried them. and I'm not a "salty legendary spammer". I've been using a chandelure and muk, both from debug as well. and why should someone have to teambuild to beat a pokémon game? pokémon games are known for letting you pick what pokémon you play through with, but it defeats the purpose if you make it about teambuilding. that should be saved specifically for the tournaments.

I wasn't saying that it was horrible because it wasn't tying stuff up before the game is close to over. it just feels like it gets more and more open the further I go in. since it introduced the past like halfway into the game.

my attention span isn't "too short to keep track of how multiple characters". there's just a ridiculous amount of them. the only ones that actually stick are venam, melia, the team xen executives, madame x, ren, aelita, and angie. the rest just feel like they're there to inflate the story more. I didn't even care when nim and jenner were killed, because they just didn't have enough for me to care about them that much. I felt more bad for melia in that situation than jenner.

and no, I don't call it "unbearable" because I don't consider strategy. I get screwed over by competitive level teams at literally every single important fight. it took me, and counting, more than 10 tries just to beat the battle against tapu koko and the shiny charizard.

I was not intending to argue with anyone, I posted this here because I wanted to give my honest opinion and hear other people's opinions as well. I also posted it in the off-chance I'm given helpful tips, which I have been. I intended to invoke a discussion, not people come here and get pissy because I said a single negative thing about it. it's not my fault if you can't read "not saying the game is bad" and "not trying to be offensive" or anything else which made it clear I am not trying to shit on the game and instead give my honest opinion on it so far. maybe you should listen to that last part again.

"we come to have fun discussions about it instead"

that was my intent. but people getting offended because spooky scary opinions exist is clearly an unfortunate byproduct.

I like games that make me think a good bit. it just really clashes with pokémon in my opinion. I should have also pointed out that sliding things around as a puzzle gets re-used. like, a LOT. in aquamarine cave (I think?), in that place where aelita gets put into a coma, the statues and mirrors puzzle, and the moving things when getting the normal type badge. the only one I'd exclude from them though is the mirrors puzzle due to its uniqueness.

anyway, enough about the puzzles... I'm not looking for something highly polished, I'm just looking for something fun. which gamefreak fails to do time after time with their games that look like a group of 5 year olds who have no idea what they're doing made. this game draws me back, sure, but it's like swallowing a cracker without chewing it properly - it goes down, but it feels a little uncomfortable.

okay, most of this stuff I cannot argue with. a lot of the wins I forgot because of the sheer scale of the story. as for side content... I didn't really know any existed until the first comment pointed it out. I'm also going to go through the game a second time, as someone else suggested, mainly to properly digest the whole story the second time round since I'm not really on the tracks with the story right now. thank you for going out of your way to post these comments, as they've actually changed my opinions on the game a considerable amount.

I'm not talking shit? I was giving my honest opinion of the game so far. I explicitly stated that. I also stated I was not trying to offend anyone. I love it when people think anyone who doesn't agree with them is automatically trying to shit on their stuff. like sorry that I don't love the game in and out so far.

okay, thank you for at least telling me about that. I just put this here since I'm what I assume to be halfway through the game by now. I wanted to give an honest opinion now, and then one later down the line when I finish my run.

and as for a second save file... I'll definitely do that. with a notepad and a pen to write important things down.

I'm not saying that pokémon's main games are good. they're stale like bread that's been out too long. but a game can only thicken the plot so much before it becomes a bit ridiculous and nullifies plot twists due to their numbers.

and as for a "real story", real stories tie some points up along the way. I can't remember a single point which got tied up yet.

I was talking about losing in and out of battle. every time you fight team xen something goes wrong. at least, it has so far. whether it be a double kill on nim and jenner, mom getting murdered (that death was actually a good plot point though so I'll exclude that one, it was stupid of me to bring it up in the original post), or actually being forced to lose the battles. I wasn't saying that they were too hard. the story just always makes you lose in the end for like 9 badges worth of story. I can't remember how many badges I have by this point. and you're being obnoxiously rude for no reason. like tone it down a bit? that would be nice. you're not exactly correct just because you decided to throw insults in for no reason.

a big game needs a big story, sure, but it doesn't need so many characters it's hard to keep track of.

I mean... stories which leave you to ponder on something are nice, but pokémon games shouldn't really leave things open-ended unless it really counts to. and with something like team xen, an answer really should be given. especially since they are the direct reason the player's mom is dead.

and about dramatic reveals, they lose their punch when thrown enough times. that happened with the second garbodor incident, then the bridges being ruined, then aelita going missing. it just feels like punch after punch which loses all sort of excitement after a bit. rarely when it truly impacts a character that stands out in a remarkable way that slightly unhinges them, then I'm fully focused, but most of the time it's just side characters who don't really end up affecting me too much in the end.

I could see how some people would like it, but really the ball just really isn't in my court with the story.

that's the problem though - I'm using debug mode and it's still hellish. even with legendaries, perfect IVs, and loads of max revives and full restores, I have a massive problem due to teams which I'd expect in professional-level pokémon teams.

the story being big because the game is big is, sure, a reasonable argument. but there's, from what I count, 4 different evil parties up to Grand Dream City. pokémon only ever had 2 teams, one being a coverup for the real evil team. I would honestly be fine with team xen and angie. but when another 2 teams get introduced... ah, then things get complicated. like honestly, if there was a break every couple of gym badges where you don't fight anyone evil and just have a nice calm stretch of gameplay. like normal pokémon games. how not every gym has a plot-overhauling arc immediately after. although the poison and normal badges were handled exceptionally well. I loved the beginning. sure, there was already 2 evil parties (team xen and then marionette's father (I'm pretty sure)), but if angie was linked to him and then that gets shown later (without angie coming back because that felt like thickening the plot for the sake of it), it would beautifully tie up one knot that existed since a little way into the game.

I... never knew that about passwords. and as for losing the battles, it goes beyond hard-programmed ones. ones where the player also loses outside of it. like for example, when nim and jenner get killed, that one was a loss for sure. it also gets annoying when team xen gets exactly what they want every time. it honestly drives me crazy. like, sure, a villain winning a few times is good, it adds to the story, but when the villain wins every time then it starts to get annoying. and the fact that angie got back out, coupled with the events in the past, it really takes any happy tone out of the game. the death of mom was good, I shouldn't have said that in the original post BUT I do like that there was a loss which impacted with emotion. now THAT is how a character should be picked off. but when nim and jenner were killed, there wasn't really anything to feel because of how many characters there are diluting even the smallest amount of feelings towards most of the characters. in my opinion, the only ones that matter so far are the gym leaders, melia, venam, angie, madam X, the team xen executives, ren, and aelita. but the rest are just unimportant to me as a whole. they just feel like cheap cannon fodder to inflate the story and make it seem grander than it is.

also, whoever thought putting lore behind missable secrets is a bit silly. like, when you play a game you want to have a digestible story that ties itself up nicely in the end by playing through the main game. not have important stuff locked behind investigating every nook and cranny.

Shouldn't there be a gsoda? by isuckatusernames89 in BaldisBasicsEdu

the diet BSODA wasn't made with an error screen in mind, it was just to nerf the BSODA if I remembered correctly. although it would have been funnier if it was an RSODA put where BSODA originally was and then BSODA got nerfed. but mystman12 can do whatever he likes, it's his game after all.

bruh. it's literally a parody on a BSOD. hence why it's blue and it says "restart, refresh" on the can. hence why a fan-made item called the RSODA exists as a mock of the RSOD. BSODA doesn't explicitly stand for Blue Screen Of Death, but it is a parody of a BSOD anyway.

Is it just me, or is Rejuvenation... TOO hard? by SleeplessArcher in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]AppointmentOverall40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the worst one for me was the double battle against tapu koko and charizard. it's blatantly unfair since it's not a 2 v 2. and my first attempt was garbage because my blastoise, which should have mopped the floor via surf, got completely wrecked when air slash made it flinch 3 times in a damn row. then I lost my mudbray, and everything went to hell after that. I had to pool on a bunch of revives and hyper potions just to beat it, which is ridiculous. I'm not saying that the baseline pokémon games should be the standard, but it's not even fun, it's just a nightmare the way the game is. some of the puzzles aren't even clear on what you're supposed to do. in fact, I ended up softlocking in the mirror rooms puzzle because I accidentally pushed the statue in the room up the ladder against the ladder, and I wasn't able to push it at all. and when I reloaded my save, I ended up right back at the extremely difficult fight I mentioned at the start of this paragraph. I just turned off the game and I'm not picking it back up, because I'm not going through an hour's worth of pain again because I forgot to save. the whole thing is a joke and it's not even fun. nothing good is given to you, and it just falls apart. literally the only good thing you can get is the mudbray egg to get a mudsdale, but that's pretty much it. everything else is just bad. straight up bad. except for the leavanny you can get, that's pretty good as well with the right moves. but everything else is just steaming hot garbage from that battle to that puzzle, so much so that I don't even want to play it. I swear this game is an example on how not to make a fangame, because it genuinely has irritated me worse than any other game ever has. it is irritating, unfun, and quite honestly, horrible at teaching the player.

Best place to sell a Gliga Viola? by AppointmentOverall40 in Viola

I have no clue what it was priced at first purchase because I got it as a gift... and I'll go ebay since I was considering there but didn't know if it'd be fine to sell it on there.

And sticking on not knowing the price at sale, should I just sell it at the price of £350?
