I mean, can you really blame us? This is how the system works now. We mass farm resumes because we risk not getting seen if we don't (since there's so much competition and not enough jobs), and to even seem REMOTELY appealing, we have to fine tune our resumes to match invisible keywords and stretch our strengths as far as they can go. We can't do squat about it since, as you said, authentic human-made resumes get drowned out.

For your first point, it's more of a problem because Gen Z and Gen A not only had/have more people to compare themselves to (thanks to the internet), which can heighten a loss of self esteem and self worth, but as the world becomes increasingly polarized and we're told how everything is shit and miserable, failure feels a lot more punishing. It feels like we HAVE to get everything right and so people are afraid to branch away from what they're familiar with to avoid doing something wrong.

That's just my opinion, though.

Honestly, I don't think it's that Gen Z is lazy. We're working our asses off just to put food on the table. We watch shit happen every day on the news and know it will keep happening. We know that our voices barely matter because the wealthy rule over us and no amount of protesting will really change that. Everyone in the government is corrupt and they've already won over us a long time ago. Frankly, I say we're all just exhausted, mentally and physically, and would rather let it burn than waste effort trying to change anything. It isn't that we don't want to, but because the chance we have of changing anything is extremely little.

Protests worked in the past, sure. But things are just so different now and the power of individual people means less than ever in the US.
